I have always resisted some embellishments because I don't like the thick items on my scrapbook pages once they go into the page protectors. I watched QVC the other day and they had eyelets and thought it was neat and not too thick for the pages. I went to Michael's yesterday and bought some but don't know what tools I need for this. Can anyone help? What seems to work best?

I have the eyelet setter kit from Making Memories and it works perfectly. The only problem is that you use a hammer and it is LOUD. I just purchased the Silent Setter off ebay but it has not got here yet so I can't really comment on that one.

All you really need to have is an eyelet setter and a hammer. Chances are you already own a hammer! The eyelet setter is a metal cylinder... kind of like a short metal pencil with flat ends. You just set it on top of the back of the eyelet, give it a few hammer whacks, and voila!! I was VERY apprehensive about trying eyelets. I've scrapped for about 8 years now (off and on) and only just started using eyelets in the last 6 months. I love them! ...................P

i've got eyelet addictioN! eyelets are awesome and i've never been into lumpy bumpy pages either. up until a few days ago i'd been using an ice pick (to make holes) and a philips head screwdriver bit (to set). getting an anywhere hole punch was such an improvement! I kept poking my fingers with the ice pick! ouch! i also got an eyelet setter but still occasionally use my screwdriver bit (it's just the tip from one of those screwdrivers where you can change from a flathead to a philips head with the help of magnetism). but then again i'm cheap and can't afford all those nifty tools! i'm sure my downstairs neighbor does not appreciate all the banging i do!
