anyone wear glasses on the rides? i can't wear contacts and i'm wondering if my glasses are at risk during the rides.

I have glasses and contacts, and have worn my glasses (provided the screws aren't loose and they fit snugly) on Rock n Roller coaster, Splash, Space, BTM, etc., etc., with no problems. I usually nowadays prefer to wear my contacts, but I have worn glasses for years on these rides and never had a problem.

no problems at Disney, now Cedar Point on the other hand.......:scared1:

I get nervous too ::yes::

I've always left them with my DH (along with my young girls) because I'm to nervous to try:rolleyes:

I've seen many many many people coming off the rides with their glasses on, and it appears they never had a problem :)

Just wear a Croakie; no worries with one of those on. My glasses-wearing DH & DS only find it really necessary on the major coasters and at the water parks.

I always wear glasses... never once had them feel like they were going to fall off... maybe its cause I have a big head.. dunno :lmao:

usually i take them off but wore them a few times our last visit and just put my hand up to keep them where i wanted them if they felt like they might slip..they didn't really move but i was paranoid...it was better than not seeing anything though esp at tot and rnr which have been more of "just a blur" before:rotfl:

I would be on the side of caution on rides like TOT, Rock n Rollercoaster, space moutian, EE...anything with speed and jolts. I usually tuck them in my shirt right before the ride starts.

I also wear glasses and had no problem on the rides. You should be fine.

My wife wears glasses and not a problem.
I'm a little scared of sunglasses, as I did lose a pair of Oakleys on a ride once, but those fit looser than normal glasses.

DD(7) has been wearing glasses since she's 2 and has never had an issue losing them on any rides in the past 3 years of visits. We have always taken her 2nd spare pair just incase but never needed them.....

but like bouke said....sunglasses, whole different story.

The only time I got concerned about my glasses coming off was on Expedition Everest - during the part the ride goes backwards. I figure when I'm going forwards, gravity keeps them tight to my head, however on EE, just the opposite is happening. I'd probably take off my glasses(as I'm not extremely near-sighted)next time on EE - if I ever get brave enough to ride that ride again!

My sister cant wear contacts so she wears her glasses all the time. Last yr at disney she wore them on every ride we went on with no problems. If your worried about losing them walmart and other stores sell those straps you can use to keep your eyeglasses from getting lost. As for the rides though she had no probs with anything. I hope you have a great trip:cool1: :cool1:

Because my eyeglasses are a little stretched out, I take them off on Space Mountain and tuck them in my purse. The other rides have always been fine, although I have not yet had the fun of experiencing EE.

I've been wearing glasses since I was 5 (wow, 30 years now!) and have never had an issue at any of the WDW rides. ToT, EE, MS, RnR, Dinosaur, etc. have never been a problem.

I second the person earlier on who mentioned Cedar Point. That is another story and, if one goes there, definitely invest in an eyeglass strap.

I have rimless, thin wire, very light, tight fitting glasses that I don't worry about, not even on EE. But I also have heavier, not-so-tight fitting tortoiseshell rimmed glasses I always take off and tuck into a buttoned pocket.

I'll take mine off for RnR, ToT (though usually not until I know we're about to drop - I like being able to see the ghosts in the hallway), Space Mountain, and BTMRR. I leave them on for all the other rides and have never had a problem. I don't know if they're in jeopardy or not on RnR, etc. but I don't want to take any chances.
