Who does it? I'm going for the third time this morning, first time wasn't so bad, second time hurt so bad I almost gave up. It's been a while I between (like month and a half) so I'm afraid the pain is gonna be bad. I just took some Advil, don't know if that will help of not!

I've been going for years and while I won't say it hurts, but it's definitely a little more than uncomfortable. It's fast so I don't think about that part. Good luck!!

I would much rather wax and get it over with in one fell swoop! The threading really makes me uncomfortable!

I have had my eyebrows threaded on multiple occasions, but only by one person. She is from Iran and has her mother ships her special thread. She does an amazing job and it is not overly painful. She does a much better job of shaping my brows than waxing every did. I really disliked waxing and would always end up with red splotches on my face. Then they grease you up with vaseline...

She also plucks the longer, thicker, old man eyebrow hairs. What is up with those? I am 42 and just started getting them. I also have a pretty mole on my check and it is starting to grow hair! :scared1: Those get plucked ASAP. :rolleyes1

I have not been back in a while b/c I now just pluck as the hairs grow in. She moved salons and it is just too far to drive imho for eyebrows.

I have never had vaseline put on after a waxing. My salon uses aloe. :confused3

Just got back pain wasn't too bad, definitely hurts more under neath the eyebrow than above. Only takes like 7 minutes, my lady was super nice and talked to me the whole time so that distracts me from the pain. I didn't get aloe this time? I noticed I'm not as red as I was after the last time

The results are so worth it! Beauty hurts, that's what my mom always says

Ok, so I've gotta know. I've never heard of heard of eyebrow threading. Yes, I could look it up and probably still will, but someone please enlighten me!!

I do it, but I hate it. I must have sensitive skin, but it HURTS and brings tears to my eyes. Oh the cost of beauty!

Thread, which to me looks like any old spool of thread, is used to shape your eye brows. It lasts longer than waxing because it gets the hair all the way down to the root, I can feel the hairs falling on my face haha. They like roll it over the areas of the eyebrow they want to remove, it makes a distinct sound

My eyes water a lot too, I think it's just a natural reaction, but they always think I'm crying! My eye brows feel as smooth as a baby's bottom now I love it

PS I'm also in the Chicago suburbs! Southwest suburbs to be exact, where are you?

It's like plucking in mass. The thread is twisted & manipulated in such a way to yank the hairs out. Since the thread is small, the person doing the threading is able to thin out your brows as well as finely shape them.

Park Ridge, so northwest!

I was burned a couple of times with waxing (different places), not terribly, but enough that I wouldn't ever go again.
