Eye Spy: A Celebrity!!!

No sightings from me but a story from my uncle..

He made it into the exact day of the 50th anniversary of disneyland. Saw steve martin. Then my uncle bought a few (probably ten) of the 50th DL anniversary books. Then was talking with someone for about half an hour. He was told stories like how steve worked at DL telling jokes (or something like that). Turns out this guy was the co-author of the 50th book. So he asked for an autographed copy, or a few.... He asked, "these are not going to be on ebay tomorrow, are they?" Hehehehehee

All I know is one ended up in my mail box!

WOW! neat for you! And Steve Martin worked in the Magic Shop on Main Street when he was young.

This is as close to a celebrity as we have seen, Don "Ducky " Williams . He is a long time Disney animator. He rode the Conch train with us in Key West while we were on the DVC cruise last year. My wife asked him to sign our fan and he drew that pic of Mickey !

I spend my life taking photo's of celebrity's onstage, but out of context I wouldn't know 99.9% of them if I fell over them.

I actually had a dream last night that a pretty famous guitarist who I actually spent eight weeks on tour with came up and yelled my name and gave me a huge hug and I couldn't figure out who the heck he was. It's not all that far removed from what could easily be the truth.

I was standing right next to Drew Carey in Pleasure Island about four years ago and had ZERO idea of who he was until someone told me.

I'm such a dork.

Dh and I have an old friend who met Tom Cruise several years ago and didn't recognize him. Even asked him what he did for a living. :rotfl2:

Now that is funny!!!

I met and spoke at length with Matt Ouimet when he was still president of DCL. It wasn't until a month later when I saw his photo that I realized who I had been talking with.

I saw Regis and the Olympic athletes who were at WDW for the taping of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. I took a couple photos and some video, but they are all pretty mediocre.

My favorite celebrity siting was back in 1997 when my wife and I were at Disneyland on the day that the last original Disneyland cast member was retiring. We got to meet and talk at great length with Bob Penfield. I got a photo with him and the very next day I opened the camera back because I thought that the film had rewound. I was wrong. Thanfully the photo wasn't completely destroyed. Regardless, I will always have that memory.

For all you hockey fans, I saw Brett Hull walking into Epcot as I was walking out on my first trip back in 2003. He was with the Red Wings at the time, and I actually had my Wings hat on (i'm a huge Wings fan). He was with his kids though, so I didn't want to bother him...

Anyone know where regis and kelly stay for the parade? Do they bring their families?? I would love to run into Mark down there!!

I'm a HUGE Redwings fan!!! How cool that you got to see him there - (I'm still in denial that Shanahan is no longer a wing)

I saw Jerome Bettis last year in the super bowl parade and the got his picture while he was doing an interview near the train station.

When i was 15 (many moons ago now) (well, 12 years), i was in one of the stores at MGM, kneeling to look at something near the floor... leg sticking out, i feel something connect with it followd by a high-pitched squeal and look up to see a somewhat embarrassed-looking melisssa joan hart (tv's sabrina, clarissa) in a crumpled heap on the floor. Naturally i helped her up and apologised, and got an autograph :teeth:
