I just read this about the Flower Festival in Disney-

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- A flower-festooned pirate ship will drop anchor and Disney princess topiaries will color the landscape at the 14th annual Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival April 5-June 3 at Walt Disney World Resort. Previously running for seven weeks, the popular festival expands to 60 days this year and offers more floral fantasy and gardening fun than ever before.

The first-ever pirate ship topiary will feature Peter Pan and his nemesis, Captain Hook, plus Tinker Bell -- all as intricately designed topiaries. Pirate Mickey Mouse and Princess Minnie Mouse, plus Cinderella and Prince Charming, Belle and her Beast from "Beauty and the Beast," and other popular characters make topiary appearances throughout the park. A towering Pirate Goofy, with Donald Duck and Pluto, offer Disney gardeners a chance to reach new topiary heights.

DH knows eactly what we are up to- the other day I said I think Cry Baby is on and I want to see it since it has been a very long time- He said "I didnt like that movie- oh- what- dio you have to watch it and then go and discuss it on the board??!"

Your DH sounds like a smart guy.... My DH knows we talk about the pirates a lot and post photos, but other than that he is not sure what we do here. He has never asked and I would tell him if he did ask, but he wont't....

So is our Captain relegated to the "other popular charcters" category?

I was in WDW for this year's flower festival. It just happened to coincide with Star Wars weekends, so more time was spent at MGM than Epcot. The topiaries I did see were cute though.

My pirate wench friend BlueBerry is off to work, so I am going to ask a question in her stead today

How many of you have met a "star" in person and/or got an autograph? What was your experience like?

here goes mine

I met Willie Nelson and his band once back in NY in the 80's, they signed autogrpahs and Willie kissed me..I about was in heaven then too. I saw Sylvester Stalone that same day, just my bf and I and we walked over and said hi to him, but he denied he was sylvester..I was not impressed with him at all(and back then i thought he was pretty hot) but his personality s*cked. I could see if there were tons of us around, but it was just me and my bf..it was kind of behind the scenes going to parking lots, if you saw the car the guy got into you would know he was lying to us.
I also met george carlin once at a college, he signed autograph..nothing fancy, but he wasn't rude either.

Ok...here is my boring story, some of you will probably not even know who this guy is..But my best star encounter was with a teen star from the 1960s called Bobby Sherman when he played a concert in my area. My DF and I had front row seats and then like the good groupies we were (at 14) we waited a couple of hours for him to come out and maybe get an autograph. He did come out and sit down and talked to us a long while, I got a hug and kiss on the cheek, and of course an autograph.

Met John Denver with my DF at the same place, she was a huge fan of his, and he was very nice but when he came out he was quite drunk..I did get an autograph from him though.

We also met Neil Diamond, he was polite but not overly friendly, so I was not too impressed with him.

This was all back when I was a kid, not any star encounters lately face to face...

My DH knows exactly what is going on, too! He's the one that showed me how to post pictures! What's even worse-when we are around other people and I start talking about Orli or Johnny, they always look at DH like "Your wife is drooling over other men". He usually responds with "Yeah, he's hot. I'd do him." TOTALLY joking, of course, but it always gets a funny reaction!

Ok..after the DHs knowing what is going on here, I asked him just now if he knew about the thread and he knows all about it...He says ..yeah, you post photos, make remarks about how hot they are..and hope to dream over your studs.....he knows I guess... He has a differnt name for the wenches, calls us Depp's Harem and normally says that he is not sure what is so hot about a guy with holes in his pants, and ripped t-shirts. He did say he would not mind posing ON supermodels though....

I love my DH he is always a hoot....

OMG!! You got Bobby's Autograph??? Lucky YOU!I went to his concert too, back in 1970 or '71 I can't remember which. He is still decent looking and is a Paramedic for LA!
