but, if we're talking belly buttons....mine is introverted....
Nope - belly buttons never entered my head!

Both! As a kid I was definitely introverted. Even in my 20s. But my 30s made me more assertive thanks to crappy life circumstances. So I'm now pretty much in the middle.

A definite introvert :flower3: . . . except when I'm :drinking1 Then I'm way too extroverted :confused3

I'm a bit of both really depending on the circumstances at the time. :D

I'm pretty wild and out spoken but not to the extreme. I don't get drunk and take my clothes off or wear pants that show my thong, I am just fun to be around. All my friends tell me I 'm like a party favor.;)

Growing up I was painfully shy but now I'm definitely an extrovert. I've even been told that I scare shy people which I find really bizarre.:upsidedow :tilt:

Definately introvert. If I do not get the quiet, alone time I need to recharge I start going crazy. This actually caused major problems about 5 months into my relationship with DFiance. I had no idea why I was so unhappy and he kept thinking it was something he did. The more he tried to baby me and "fix" the problem the worse it got. Then one day a very dear friend of mine who I had been talking to emailed an article to me titled "How to care for your introvert". That email literally changed my life and saved our relationship. It helped me realize I wasn't a freak, I just have different needs than some people. Fortunately my DFiance is a very kind and loving man. He read the article and then skimmed through a few books I bought on the topic. He now gives me space when I need it and tries not to take it personally. He might not understand my needs, but atleast he respects them. :D

I also want to mention. The difference between an introvert and an extrovert is not if they are outgoing or shy. The difference is how they "recharge their batteries". An extrovert actually gains energy from talking to people. When they have had a rough day they want to talk to someone about it or spend time with people. This helps them feel refreshed and rested. An introvert is the opposite. They actually give or lose energy when interacting with people. After a normal workday of dealing with people all day long I am literally exhausted even if I have done no physical labor. An introvert needs to come home and unwind alone in a quiet room by themselves. This helps them regain their energy. My DFiance knows not to bombard me with a hundred questions when I walk in the door. Even asking me what I want for dinner might be too much for me to handle. He knows after I sit down and read a book for 15 minutes or check my email and read the Dis board then I am ready to talk. I just need that few minutes of alone time to recharge. This is not something he should take personally. It's not that I want to get away from him, it's that I want to get closer to myself. I just need to reconnect with myself, take a couple deep breaths and let my brain relax for a couple minutes. Then I'm ready to spend the rest of the evening with him. If I don't get those few minutes of alone time I start getting very cranky and stressed.

I know this might be way too much information for some people, but I hope it might help someone out there. If you are unhappy but can't name a specific reason why or get stressed out over little things you might want to read up on introverts.

::yes:: That is me! I'm going to have to print this out and save it. Next time someone asks me why I spend so much time on my computer I'm gonna show them this! Lock me in a room with my computer and I'm a happy girl, don't need to see people too often.

Both Michael and I are complete extroverts.... anyone who's ever met us know that!! :teeth:

I've just seen your reply, Michelle. Glad you have an understanding DFiance. :)
