Extreme Sweepstakes- Do you participate?

I enter blog giveaways all the time, and have won lots of really fun prizes. Haven't committed to actual sweepstakes, although I do enter them when I happen to come across one I would like to win. I did win a $500 VISA card from a survey I completed last month. That was a nice surprise and helped to pay down our vacation balance!

Have won some amazing things, and lots of smaller prizes too. biggest win was from America's funniest home videos. it was a sweep with no video needed, 3 years of dvc points which I was thrilled with, but they also included 7k cash to help with taxes. so after taxes we got our first trip to wdw for free. we used those points out here too which was super cool too. also won lots of prizes from coca cola from 25.00 best buy and master card pre paid cards to 1,000 dollar pre paid card, and lots of stuff from the local radio stations. That's amazing! I'm definitely going to check those websites out. I've been using the About Sweepstakes site someone else recommended and have entered quite a few on there, particularly the Disney ones!

it is a lot of fun and I like winning the small stuff, just won a digital warner brothers movies from lays and yesterday used 2 of the Disneyland tickets to go to the 60th anni party (our passes block out during the summer) and for the first time in forever got to wear a bday button (my bday was a few days ago) as we don't go in the summer...

Try entering some blog giveaways. They are simple to enter, and many have multiple daily entries that you can complete in just a few seconds. I bookmark the pages for the giveaways I want to win, so that it's easy to head back and do those daily entries. For my own blog, I participate in many "hops" where there are 20+ blogs linked on one page. This makes it easy to go to more giveaways. We usually have a $25 minimum prize value. Many are worth much, much more. I have won several gift cards for restaurants, $100 gas card, store credit to use at online shops, etc. There have actually been some giveaways where I was the only person who entered!!

Out of curiosity, when you win something like the $16,000 cash, do you just automatically earmark a portion of that for taxes? I'm just wondering if I got into this what would be the best way to avoid a whopping tax bill at the end of the year!



Lucky! Maybe I should avoid telling DH this since he wants to move to Canada! haha

Canada is awesome - and not just because of that (and the [almost] free health care)

I started doing sweeps back in 2012; trying to win a trip. No trip so far but have won numerous small appliances, a $750 best buy gift card, $2500 cash and just won $20K in gift cards from our local grocery store in April!
DH doesn't give me a hard time anymore about the time I spend doing it LoL

Holy crap! I'd love gift cards for groceries! That would be amazing!

It is....I can buy anything in the store, including other gift cards to stores and MasterCard, visa, etc.
And they have a gas rewards program so I have filled my van for .25 several times.....usually costs $8 or so.
I usually spend 1.5 hours online after dinner while we watch tv.
