Extreme Jenga?!? - Strange things people do

We always put our hands up. That's part of the fun. Good for your parents, OP, for having a great time!

OTOH- the Jenga thing bothers me somewhat. I guess that a wooden piece falling in front of the log may not mess up Splash too much, but I can only imagine the damage that could be done if one of those pieces fell onto the track of one of the other coasters.

They're super glued together ;)

I have no problem with them playing a game on the ride. I do not like that your parents put their arms up blocking the faces of the riders behind them.

I think that is rude. Now the people behind won't purchase the photo that they may have if their faces weren't blocked.

If I managed to get my niece to ride a ride that had photos taken during it and someone blocked her face I would be very annoyed as she probably wouldn't ride it again for me to get another one with her face, not to mention it wouldn't be the same as a first ride photo.

I don't think it's rude, it's natural habit to put your hands up while on a thrill ride. And as for your first picture theory..Why don't you just put petroleum jelly on her teeth the second go round and she'll smile like its her first time. Problem solved. :surfweb:

FWIW, it was another poster who posted this picture, not the OP. I don't think those are really her parents. I'm guessing it's a (possibly photoshopped) picture the poster pulled off a website somewhere.

As for the arms up in air thing....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
What are you expecting, Christmas-card picture quality?:rolleyes1

And yes, that is the photo I posted. Not sure as to why it didn't post in my original comment. But yes, those are my parents in the second row, holding their hands up and enjoying themselves.

Now, I know it sounds stupid.. But last weekend, my father showed me a picture of two people playing Jenga on Splash Mountain. The people in the second row..are my parents. Now this photo is not photoshopped and I have never seen anything so bizarre on a ride.

Has anyone else seen anyone do something on a ride like this?!

Sorry if the picture is big.

Okay, I do have to ask one off the wall question though: did your parents just hang on to the picture for two years before showing you and telling you about the Jenga in the front row? The pic says 2008 on it.
(not questioning if it's a real photo, I would just show that thing to everyone I could for a laugh!)

My father upon planning our upcoming trip did it. Because we're taking a first timer to Disney, so we were showing pictures and it just happened to show up in Google Images.

As I stated earlier I take my nieces to WDW. They haven't been on any of the thrill rides. I did manage to get the younger one this year (her first trip) to ride on TT.

No, I'm not a Troll. As someone else pointed out I have been on the Dis for years! I also happen to know that the Aug. 1999 join date is incorrect. I suspect that is when someone decided to add a join date.

All the people who like to put their arms up could just as easily ask for the last row!

I don't know why everyone is freaking out about what annoys me. I'm sure you all have things that other people do that annoy you!

I get the feeling that you would be Pouty McPouterson if someone ruined your Splash Mountain photo. :sad1:

Gotcha :thumbsup2

I think it's funnier to look at than those old Flash Mountain pics.

And yes, Squirrel. I do have something that annoys me. :) Those Flash Mountain pictures. Now THAT I would be annoyed with!

Nevermind, I just realized this wasn't "the" photo.
That is the picture. That site does not allow direct linking. The other poster went to the link and downloaded/uploaded to their own site. It is the same one that is not visible in the OP, but will be if you go to that website directly, when it would then in your PC's cache.

LOL...ahhh!! My brain is frozen from our cold weather ;) Thanks!

Yeah, cold. We were in the teens this AM.

See you in a few weeks.

It was 45 degrees this morning when we went to Animal Kingdom! That is FREEZING to us! ;)

Even Z was complaining his ears were cold so he had a hat on with his hoodie (he zonked out on the ride home, tried to take a bite of his fry and just passed out):

I NEVER raise my arms on a thrill ride.

(Because I'm a weenie...I'm always too busy with my death-grip on the bar in front of me). :scared:

I don't raise my arms either plus I tend to duck down. Squirrel, you can easily ride behind me and get a perfect picture!

When we were riding BTMRR last January we wanted to ride in front. We rode 4 times and were always stuck in the middle. So the next time we asked for the front, even volunteering to wait another round to get it. We were totally denied. My cousin had her birthday button on and everything. So asking does not always guarantee a front-row seat. :sad1:

We put our arms up on so many rides on our last trip (Disney, Universal, Seaworld, Busch Gardens), that my kids even put their arms up when our Southwest flight was taking off to go home!! :lmao::rotfl2::rolleyes1

:rotfl2: Adorable and hilarious!

I suspect that there are far more people that like to put their arms up as those that don't, so I'm not sure your little idea would work. A better idea would be just to loosen up and not worry about a stupid picture with strangers in it.

Oh, are we allowed to scream anymore? Or do we have to think of the people that may have some sort of hidden disability that would cause someone to drop dead if a person around them screamed?

I can tell you that you didn't miss anything by not riding in the front BTMRR. TRUST ME. It is so so so so sooo slow and boring!

Our local park has actually stopped rides on the lift hills for people pulling out stuffed animals and such for fear of them falling, damaging rides or people being irresponsible trying to retrieve articles.
