I just read that ET at MK will be replaced by Stitch's Great Escape at the end of 2004. Since I've never been on ET, now I feel compelled to try it. Is this like a simulator, similar to Star Tours at MGM? If so I'll skip it, that one makes me sick.

It was a neat attraction in my opinion but it did scare many small children.::MickeyMo

I don't know what bug got up their rears, but that attraction always had enormous lines! It wasn't for the toddlers but neither is TOT, Space Mountain and others.

I'd taken down the Tiki room, far more lame and empty

And Disney, thanks again for asking your $upportive gue$t$ for feedback!

I enjoyed it too, but it really did not fit in the Magic Kingdom. I'm sure its replacement will bring larger crowds than it did, given that it will be more appropriate for the younger crowd.

Really, the thing I liked most about it was the special effects. It really wasn't scary anymore after the first time, because then you already knew what was going to happen. But the effects were what kept me interested in the attraction. Supposedly the new Stitch Encounter will incorporate some of the most advanced special effects ever used at WDW. So I'm looking forward to seeing the changes.

What makes you think they DIDN'T ask for opinions from park guests?

Personally, I always thought it was a hoot. But, of the 6-8 people I've travelled with in the past couple of years, I can only think of one other person who would even "bother" with AE. And I can certainly appreciate why some people feel that way.

I'll reserve final opinion until I see the updated version...

I never understood the fuss about AE - did it once just after it opened, regretted wasting the 45 minutes in line, never ever thought about doing it again !

I've seen scarier episodes of Rugrats...

Tjkraz, I'd be one of the other 6 who wouldnt bother.

Tree, I think for once Disney did listen to the customer, and it's time for something a good bit better and more in keeping with the rest of the park as Brian said.

I have to say I think the bulk of the most recent additions to MK have been under par, especially AE, Buzz LightYear (OK), Test Track (poor).

I think Disney could take a lesson from USF and IOA in particular.

Am I in a tiny minority here ? (Not that unusual to be honest... ;) )

:Pinkbounc :eek: :crazy: ::yes:: :bounce:

:( We are bummin' about AE - It was one of my son's favorites....
Like someone said earlier, there were always crowds at this attraction. I know it wasn't a ride for the young'uns - but does every ride in MK have to be for the little guys? I hope Disney remembers that there are plenty of families with PreTeens/Teens out there....
Having some attractions marketed to this group would be a big boost for the Disney Image - Esp. with USO capturing this crowd so well.......

I rode it for the first and last time when we were there 2 weeks ago. It was good for ADULTS. I think another poster was right in saying it isn't for the MK. I think they should move it to MGM. Not to mention raise the height requirement. I saw kids tramatized because their parents didn't want to miss it. My first thought was, "That didn't seem very "Disney" like." I think the Magic Kingdom is more for the kids and the kids love Stitch. I look forward to one more attraction I can share with my daughter.
