Extra sneakers?

When you travel in the summer with all the pop up thunderstorms and downpours do you pack two pairs of sneakers so you have dry ones for the next day/later that day?
Yes I always brings 2 pairs.
How do you handle if your feet and shoes get soaked?
I slog about in wet shoes until I leave the park. Newspaper works well to dry them if you stuff it inside once back at the hotel. For shorter evening park trips I can wear sandals, but not all day.

I brought a second pair of sneakers my last trip and I was grateful. It’s just poured most of one day and I didn’t care about wet shoes because I knew I had a dry pair for the next day. I don’t want two pairs wet in the same day. I also bring a pair of sandals that dry quickly, so they are another choice, I can’t wear the sandals all day or I end up with sore feet, legs, hips, and back, but I can handle a couple miles in them to give me a quick dry choice.

As soon as I got back to the room with my soaked through sneakers, I pulled out the liners, loosened the laces, and ran the hair dryer in them a few minutes to get them started in the drying process. I probably could have worn them the next day, but I wore the other pair. The next day after that they were clearly fully dry. Some folks are willing to put them in a dryer, but I don’t do that with my shoes.

Some trips I refuse to get wet sneakers and plan accordingly. I can dodge brief showers and keep them dry enough most days. But this last trip that just wasn’t going to be possible as it was going to rain most of the day a couple of days and it really did. If you have the option to “just get wet,” touring the parks in the rain isn’t so bad. It’s just when you are soaked and you walk into very cold air conditioned spaces that can be hard as you get cold!

Yes, I always bring two pairs. I usually get a new pair 6-8 weeks prior to the trip (enough time to solidly break in) and I save whatever pair I had before then to bring as backups. I also have a pair of Clarks flip flops that are super comfy, I don't know that I'd do a full day in them but they're certainly sufficient for an evening in a pinch.

I always wear one pair of sneakers on the plane and pack a second pair. Sometimes I keep a pair of socks in my park bag so I can change into those if needed. We usually have a rental car so after getting caught in heavy rain on our last trip we decided we should keep the extra pair in the car. That way if we're park hopping the dry pair is ready to go.

Definitely pack two pairs. My strategy is always to alternate pairs day by day, but pack a pair of flip flops in my bag in case it rains so you don't get wet feet.

Wet feet are the worst!

Always 2 pairs of sneakers, sandals for the pool and recently I've started bringing my slippers too.

I always bring 2 pair, plus a pair of sandals, and sometimes 2 of those as well.

I find i get much less sore if I vary the shoes I wear, so I try to change midday even if we don't get wet

I bring 2 pairs, Birkenstocks, pool slip-ons, and usually another pair of park sandals.

During rainy season I take an extra pair of socks in a small ziploc in park for us. If it rains and it's not drying fast, we will often at least switch our socks putting the wet in the ziploc. Sometimes I take the travel size of powder so we can use that too when changing socks.

I also have lots of the lightweight Skechers that I started wearing and I can wear without socks, and they dry fast.

On the plane I wear my Salomon Geckos (slip off sneakers designed to get wet/dry quickly) and alternate them in the parks with my Tevas (which also work as pool footwear). For longer trips I'll also throw in my Clark's Privo sandals. All rain driven options. I also bring an extra pair of no-show socks in a ziploc to switch out once the sneakers have dried out from the rain.

I just carry small portable lightweight shoe dryers to stuff in the shoes overnight. Some are shoe shaped and another pair is cylinder-shaped (about 1" diameter and maybe 5" long). They work great. My shoes are always dry by morning. Sometimes I wear waterproof tennis shoes.

Always two pairs. Usually wear one pair on plane when flying.

I have taken a pair of flip flops in a bag with me to parks/some paper towels. I will take off sneakers and throw them on for a few minutes until the downpour is over - then put socks and sneakers back on. It has worked a few times. (I don't walk with them much or wear them much even at home/not good for my feet in general)/not ideal for park "shoes").

I rarely wear closed toed shoes (toe issues) but I do take at least 3 pairs of sandals (Earth Brand, Skechers, Tevas, etc) that can get wet and not cause blisters. Rain or no rain I rotate them. I also take a pair of cheap flip flops to wear to the pool.
