We just got back yesterday and we had 32 snack credits to use. Like you, I wondered why it was so hard for people to use them all up. Now I know why!
We had 8 left over on our last day, so we all had ice cream for breakfast
and bought rice krispy treats to take home (which are in the pantry right now).
The reasons it is hard to use them all include:
We used most for beverages, but like someone else said, we shared drinks because when it is so hot in FL, they get warm very quickly and soda and water are yucky when warm.
Many times the snack carts were out of ice cream sandwiches (the Tollhouse ones, our favorites) or Mickey bars (and it was NOT busy last week at all) OR they would say the computers were down and they couldn't run your card. They would suggest you pay out of pocket and straighten it out at your resort later - too much hassle!
You are eating so much on the dining plan - you're just not hungry! We figured we would just simply use our 4 snack credits each day - 2 for drinks to share and 2 for ice cream or popcorn to share. It just didn't happen because of the above reasons.
We even met some friends there and gave them snacks a few times when the machines were working and still had 8 left on our last day to use!
