Extra person on ADRs?

So, we're going to be there with my dad. He's planning on eating all the meals with us, but my question is- If he decides to not go and we had an ADR for 4, will it be okay that only 3 go? He doesn't know if he'll have to go into work at all or anything, so we're not positive he'll be there for every meal. We're only making a few ADRs, so it'd only be maybe one that that happens on.

We had an ADR for Park Fare one time. The ADR was made for 6 and at the last minute, my SIL and BIL and DN couldn't make it. They didn't give us a hard time about it.

We had reservations for three and had two show up and it was fine. Things happen. They can't expect everyone to show up all of the time. You'll probably just be seated at your table for four but with three people.

Alright. I mean, it's like, what are they going to do to you? But I was just wondering if they'd give us a hard time or anything.

Thanks :)

What if it's the other way around?? DH's aunt and uncle haven't been to WDW in over 20 years and recently moved to FL. After we already made our ADRs they sent us an e-mail saying they wanted to meet us there. Couldn't change our ADR for that night to accommodate 6 instead of 4. People have said to just show up with 6 and say the CM made a mistake but I would feel guilty lying....:confused3

We have shown up with more than we reserved for. We had an ADR for 2 at WCC and we were spending some time with friends and didn't want to leave them just to go have dinner, so we invited them to join us. When we checked in at the front, we gave them our reservation number and asked if they would be able to accomodate the increase in our party size. Fortunately we didn't have to wait long as they got us the next available table for 4. I wouldn't by any means lie and say that someone else made a mistake, but I would show up with 6 and see if they could accomodate you. You may have to wait a bit longer for a table that can fit your party, but its worth a try.

With less than booked, it is never a problem. It can be a problem if more show than ressies are for. Depending on time of year and crowds some places can't fit any extra people.

I'm going echo PamCo88.
If you have one less, that will be no problem.
If you showed up with one more than you may have an issue.

If you think you are going to have an extra for any meal you should call and get your ADR's adjusted. My brother did this to me one year, with in 1 month of our vacation, he added his girlfriend and her daughter to our vacation.
"Its not going to be a problem, right?"
I had to call and adjust all my ADR's to accomodate 2 extra peeps. :scared:

I managed to get them all back in but what a mess. My mother tells me I can't return family members. :)

Have a good trip!! :dance3:

Totally agree with the two PPs. Going DOWN in party size is not a problem. Going UP in party size can be.

For example, someone mentioned they now are a party of six instead of four. The reservation is for four. That means one table for four has been "set aside" for them at their time. By going to six, either a table of six will have to be "set aside" or a table for two will have to be "set aside" as well.

Going from four to three isn't a problem because the same table will be used.
