Go with AKL...just do it. Let her choose something else that day...like maybe where you'll have lunch. But a Value over AKL?? No Way, No How!

haha - yes, we have stayed at AKL before, and we loved it, but we also like seeing new resorts. So since it is one night I am ok with it. If it were more than one night the kids (and DH) would be out of luck on that one If we were going to stay at AKL again I would want it to be more than just to lay our heads, and I would then want to be Savannah view. We did love it there the last time we stayed.

The biggest appeal to me is that I don't have to pull out a sofa bed at 1:00 am, and all we are doing is sleeping, waking up and going. Just enough time to see what a value is like!

Last night I logged on and saw that all 4 nights were available in a standard for BWV. Figures. So I am hoping to call this am and get what I need in standard. I need otu points so I have to wait and call :/

Final update...By the time I called MS, the standard view was missing a night. I could have wait listed, but I really don't want to have any points left over, so I just booked a Garden/Pool view. So while this is our second time at BWV, it is a new view for us. We love it there!

Thank you everyone for your advice/input. Can't wait for our awesome stay!!

Nothing is ever final I guess...But I am finished, I swear

I ended up looking at the resort availability tool and saw that standard view was available to BWV. I switched to Standard view for Thur, Fri, Sat, and also saw that a Value was available at AKL. So I went ahead and booked that - having to only buy 2 more OTU points, I figured paying 30.00 for those points as opposed to 195.00 for a night at ASMo was a better option.

THEN - while I was on the phone with MS, I went on Southwest's website and saw that that had a 3:10 flight for 62.00, as opposed to the 8:10 flight for 87.00. So then I went to SW and changed the flight to that and each person's flight had 4400 points returned to my account - woo-hoo!!! So now, we get in at a reasonable hour, get to stay at AKL, and hopefully have dinner there that night (our favorite place to eat of all - JIKO!). Yay - I am super happy now

I would have gone with Movies over AKL, but we've stayed at AKL twice and really dislike it. You like it, so at least you know that.

No More Looking!!! I don't think my flights can get any cheaper than 124.00 for Easter week!! I think the kids will be upset about Movies, but I will let them do something special like daisyduck123 suggested. I just had a hard time paying 195.00 for a Value resort the more I thought about it.

I always feel that if I've paid the dues already I'd rather just go with that rather than pay more for a cash room. The $30 vs $195 and staying at a Deluxe sounds much better! Glad everything worked out on the reservations.

Wow....I am shocked that a value would cost $195!!!! I used to be able to get one for a night for $99 with a AAA discount or annual pass discount. We did this at the beginning of our DVC membership, as we did not have enough points to stay as long as we wanted, so would stay a Pop for our Sat. arrival day and then move. Or I would pay cash with DVC discount for an extra night at our resort. So happy to have a few resale contracts under our belt now.

Good for you on the flight!!! And I would much rather stay at AKL in a value studio for $30. Great job!

Honestly, I was a little shocked too! I know it is Easter week and all but that just seemed a little crazy. Not to mention there is no coffee pot in the room!! I was feeling much better about everything when I got off the phone this time.

I told the kids we would not be going to asmo, but we will be going to akl and will maybe have a savannah view and they were excited. So there ya go! They are also excited about flying in earlier, and I am excited to have ME pick up our bags. I just feel lucky that I looked on the availability tool when I did and all was available! I of course checked again when I was all booked and the same options were not available. They were waiting for me
