Extra Magic Hours

Ok so I am planning on taking advantage of the Extra Magic Hours during our next trip. So do we have to leave the park and reenter for extra magic hours, do we swipe our magic bands as we enter rides? how does this work. I know that you have to be a resort guest, other than that, how do they know that you are in fact a resort guest who is eligible to stay in the park?

You don't have to be a resort guest to stay in the park for EMH, you only have to be a resort guest to do any attractions during EMH. So offsite guests don't get kicked out of the park, but they're not allowed to ride rides. Your MB will be scanned as you enter the queue to confirm you're eligible to participate in EMH.

oh ok sounds good. Years ago when we did EMH we had to get paper bands and wear them, I didnt figure they were doing that with the new magic bands.

Everyone can stay in the park during evening EMH but only resort guests can do the rides and yes they get that at the ride entrance from your magic band. It's not a hard ticket event so anyone can be in the park. No need to leave and re-enter the park.

Morning is a bit different. Only resort guests are allowed to enter the park during EMH all others have to wait for official park opening. Again, the info comes from the scan of your MB.
