Does anyone know if the hours that is listed for each park include the magic hours? I'm curious to know especially about Animal Kingdom. How late does AK tend to stay open when they have evening magic hours?

AK usually closes 3 hours after regular park closing for Evening Magic Hours

Edit to add that this website, www.wdwinfo.com has park hours/magic hours etc. posted for the next 6 months.

Is it really less busy during the magic hours??

Every time you ever see an official listing of hours, it is the hours the parks are open to the general public. You always have to do the "EMH math" yourself." EMH mornings are one hour before public opening, and EMH nights are three hours after public closing. It's the same for all 4 parks.

I am disappointed. The only park with early hours Mothers Day weekend is MGM> That was part of the reason we decided to stay at a Resort to take advantage of this as our little on (1 1/2 yo) is up at sun rise and to bed around 7:30.

Disappointment is understandable, but it's a relatively 'set' schedule. Each day, one park opens an hour early or stays open up to three hours late for Disney resort Guests. It works out to about one day per week per park per 'shift' - meaning MGM opens an hour early one day and closes three hours late another day; Epcot opens early one day and closes three hours late a different day... ditto for AK and MK. Sometimes the days overlap, sometimes they don't. But while additional EMH may be added based on expected crowds, the schedule is generally determined (and published) six months in advance.

The extra magic hours disappointed me slightly when we were down there in 2005, understandably it is open for anyone staying in the disney resorts. Goes to show how many resorts/ properties WDW has. There were quite alot of people though. Oh well. The parks are big enough for all of us!

If you are only going for a weekend you generally cannot take advantage of the early EMH- normally only MGM has them on Saturdays. Friday is generally a night EMH at Epcot and Sunday is generally a night EMH at MK. I believe part of this is to encourage people to stay for other days of the week, at least in part. we live in Florida and go up on the weekend generally and I wish we could do more morning EMHs but the schedule is posted well before our trips and we know ahead of time.

When we go in June the MK shows its reg. park hours are till 11:00 pm. Does this mean it's open till 2:00 am for the EMH?

Wow, I thought the wdw site's hours were the hours for the general public. However, it seemed a little odd that MGM would be open from 9AM until 1AM on a Monday (4/23). Not that we'll be there that late with our son in tow, but that's pretty cool!.

Thanks for the clarification. . .

I do remember when we went to MGM the first night for the magic hours, they were open so late that we didn't even stay till the end. That was the first day of our arrival (left for the airport that morning at 5 am) got to orlando at 11 am then went straight to AK until that closed and picked up the MH at MGM. Talk about being tired!
