We are coming to Disney March 1, most likely. We are NOT staying on property so we don't have the access to extra magic hours.

One reason I picked this date is because the Wishes Fireworks are at 8PM... we'll get in town that day and go to Magic Kingdom mainly to see the fireworks and maybe do a few things that we have FastPasses for. We realize it will be crowded due to the EMH but I think it'll be ok.

How do they determine who has EMH? If the park "officially" closes at 8, and the fireworks are at 8, will we have any issues with not being a resort guest??

For evening EMH, you're allowed to stay in the park even if you're not staying on property - you just won't be able to get on rides (Magic Bands are scanned to determine eligibility for EMH).

You will be able to see the fireworks. You won't be able to do much after the fireworks. Disney checks the magic band on everyone to see if they are staying at a resort before they can enter a ride line. I'm not sure if the stores remain open for non-resort guests or not.

Perfect! My kids won't be able to hang much longer than the fireworks... we just don't want to get kicked out before, haha! I'm sure we should be able to grab some food after?

You're not really supposed to use the restaurants or shops if you're not an EMH guest during EMH. It's not enforced though so you do you. Most of the dining will be closing down by 8pm if EMH starts at 8pm anyway. I would plan on eating before fireworks or trying to grab something from Casey's on your way out.

Oh I'm sure we will. May just need a snack... mickey mouse ice cream or something! ;)

Sorry, but that's an often-repeated Disney myth.

That info gets confused with the extra cost hard ticket party information.

Non Resort Guests are welcome to stay during evening EMH (not for morning) just not ride. Disney is always happy to take your money in a shop or restaurant, and since you can't ride they are banking on you spending money if you stay. It's only hard ticket parties where non-party guests are not allowed in the park/shops/restaurants at all.

That makes sense. I can't wait to see the fireworks. We have been to Disney twice in the last year but the fireworks have always been at 10... too late for my 3 year old.

also staying a little later then just after the fire works is a great idea as there is a mad rush to get home right after I would stay maybe 15- 30 minutes after I know sleep kids but would you rather find a nice place to site have something to eat or stand in line like Sardines if you are giving you kids some money or if they have some of there own this could be a good time to let them get that seuviner no worrying about carrying it around the park, no worrying about forgetting to pick it up at the end of the day,
