Hello! My fiance and I are going to Disney World, FL for our Honeymoon in September/October! I couldn't be more excited!! I have been before as a kid, but my fiance has never been. This is also the first trip that I am planning myself and even though I've been to WDW before, I'm still wondering what to expect?

My first question would be about the Extra Magic Hours. I've read up on them and know that the park opens one hour early for WDW Resort guests and stays open three hours later for WDW Resort guests...but I'm having trouble figuring out how that works? Like if regular Florida guests enter the park, how would they 'kick them out' for the Resort guests to enjoy it?

Extra Magic Hours are wonderful :goodvibes. You get to enter the park an hour before it opens to the general public if you show your room key card.

You also get to stay after closing and ride the rides, just make sure to have your room key handy to show the Cast Members.

You see, Disney doesn't kick regular guests out, or even ask them to leave once the park closes and the EMH start. Any guest, whether they are a resort guest or not, is welcome to stay, shop and eat. They can't, however, ride any rides during EMH, unless they are a resort guest, and can show the CM a room key.

The extra magic hours are for resort guests to be able to ride the attractions with very short wait times, and since a regular visitor who is not staying onsite can't get on the rides they are not preventing you from enjoying your EMH.

I go to EMH quite a bit. It's the perfect time for me to take photographs as the park is virtually empty. Of course I don't ride any rides, but I do enjoy the park, and eat dinner there. I have plenty of other opportunities to ride the rides since I live here.

Don't worry about crowds during the EMH hours at night ... there aren't many. You will be able to see so much, and get so much done in the hours after the park has closed, you won't believe it.

I highly recommend staying onsite just for that benefit :thumbsup2. Have fun on your trip and your honeymoon!

Thank you so much! That makes much more sense! I think the way my mother had us do it when I was younger, is to arrive right when the gates open, take an occasional nap in the afternoon during the busier times, and return in the evening....I definitely want to accomplish as much as we can since we don't go often! I would give anything to live right next to Disney like you do! Haha maybe some day! -crosses fingers-
