If I am reading Deb Wills' site correctly, it appears that Animal Kingdom is participating in the evening Extra Magic Hours, so it would be open 5-8 p.m. on those nights. Is this correct? Isn't this the first time this park has been open after dark?

I don't know if it's the first time the entire park has been open this late, but as part of a GM spiff trip, we had an after hours party in Dinoland over the July 4th week in '03. TTBaB & CDTE as well as the carny rides and games were open.

I read somewhere (Mouseplanet?) that with the March hours released for Easter week, AK will actually be open until 11:00pm at least once. That is definitely a new record, at least for the general public.

Gearing up for the crowds they're expecting 'E:E' to bring, I'd bet. They were open until 8:00 on our last trip (Jan 2) but I was unable to visit that night. Next time I will make it though. I love the Parks at night and I'm sure AK will be beautiful.

My DW and I attended the first evening EMH aat AK. We both give it 2 Mickey thumbs up. We had a great time. Casually strolled from one show and ride to the next and with the excepiton of Dinosaur (which was down part of the night), everything was great. The Tarzan and LK shows had about 3/4 of the seats filled and the Lighting was more intense at Tarzan due to the darkness. All together we hope this continues for a long time. We even took time to try out the Boneyard. :cool1: :smooth:

Is this like E-Nite?

I Hope this continue until June

How much is it?

It's similar to an E Ride Night. Each theme park stays open three hours later one night per week. There is no additional cost--it is a perk only for guests staying at Walt Disney World resorts.

E Ride Nights only happen at the Magic Kingdom, whereas this Extra Magic Hours perk applies to each theme park. Another difference is the fact that attendance only limited by the number of WDW Resort guests that want to visit.

Don't know if they'll still be doing it in June or not. They could resurrect the E Ride Nights for the summer months. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.
