Extra Magic Hour

What is the difference between a park with the extra magic hour and one without. Does the one without stay open later. I am enquiring because someone talked about going to a park with an emh and then going for a rest then going to a non emh park for the afternoon/eve.

parks that have the EMH that day open an hour early to people staying on site.
Monday-Animal Kingdom
Tuesday-MGM
Wednesday-EPCOT
Thursday- MK
Friday -AK
Saturday-MGM
Sunday -MK
Only a few attractions actually open early in each park.

These parks fill up fast sometimes so many people will take advantage of getting in there early and getting through some attractions and then when it starts to get full they will go back to their resort for a while or go to another park.
