:earseek: :cheer2:  Also, my kids are staying at the ALL Star Resort, but we are off property. What all do you need to get into the Magic hour? Just the room key or what do they check for? We want to accompany our kids for the extra magic hour, but not sure what they will look for. Kids will have a room key from All Star Resort. princess: princess: :umbrella:

Everyone has to have a room key,If you don't have one then you can't get a wristband. I've heard that sometimes they won't let you on a ride if you don't have one.
So I doubt you will be able to get in for EMH.
Sorry

Unfortunately, you will all four each need a room key. Each person staying in the room gets one. You each show your room key to get into the park if its morning EMH and if its evening EMH you show it at various "stations" where they will issue wristbands. I am sorry it won't work out for you. On the bright side, EMH isn't always what its cracked up to be, it can make the parks crowded, we usually avoid EMH parks on EMH day. I have heard of people doing EMH when they don't check wristbands but we have always had to show ours, including our young kids.

If all you want to do is "accompany" your kids on an EVENING EMH...
Just be in the park before the posted "general public" closing time.
Your kids WILL be able to get a wrist-band and ride.
You won't, but that just means that you won't be able to ride any attractions during the EMH.
But, you won't be discovered and "escorted from the park."
So, if all you want to do is "enjoy the evening with you kids" OTHER THAN actually riding the attactions (you can wait outside as they que-up and ride) then you can do this.

As the others have said, however, since there are lots of on-site resort guests that do attend evening EMH, you might be in for some very LONG waits for your kids to get thru the line and the attraction.

Going back to the days when this was just Early Entry there has always been one or more in our party who either didn't have a room card because of their young age or had one and forgot to carry it with them, and they've been admitted to the early EMH by my simply saying to the CM at the turnstile, 'They're with us'. We were there for the start of EMH on Jan. 1 this year, same thing, my kids lacking a card got in with us. It's a different thing in the evening, one needs a wristband and a card to get it, but I doubt that an uncarded member of your party will be turned away in the morning if it's claimed they are with the others. Save the flame, my kids WERE staying with us, I'm simply reporting what happened.

In October they weren't just looking at room keys for EMH at night - they were SCANNING them. We had to stand in a line where a CM would scan each person's room key, then we were moved to another line for a CM with the wristbands.

But if you just want to hang out in the park with your kids, shop, eat, etc. then I don't think anyone will care.

Not that I am condoning this, or that is the right thing to do, but in the evening couldn't you have the kids get their wrist band then leave the area, take the key and go get a wristband for yourself?

Once the room ID is scanned, it's scanned. You can't use it again for that same night.

Ahh, I forget how much technology has improved :) Oh well, I guess you have to be honest and either book a room or don't go on the rides.

The bottom line on this remains, evening extra hours require a wristband which requires a room card, AM early entry requires one to get through the turnstiles. As I mentioned before, there's always someone in our usually large party who forgets theirs and they've never failed to gain EE once I or my wife told the CM that the person in question was staying with us and didn't have a room key card. For the purposes of the person who asked the original queston the answer is, mornings possible, evenings impossible.

Just got back and at MGM Sunday and they were checking. You could stay in the park, walk around, shop, etc and the 830P Fantasmic is open to all but to get on rides they were checking and then spot checking again at the fast pass area

This was our experience last week:

At AK we were there for evening EMH. They actually scanned the room keys for each person in our party. When the scan didn't process quickly enough on one key they tried it on another hand held scanner which showed the key was already scanned.

At MK we stayed for evening EMH. We got wristbands in Tomorrowland. They didn't scan the room cards, but we had to show a room card for each person in our party (although they really didn't look at them very closely).

At Epcot we went to morning EMH. We were staying at BCV and entered via the International Gateway. I don't recall them checking for room cards. Perhaps they just assume anyone entering in the am via the International Gateway is staying at one of the Epcot resorts.

As others have said, EMH usually require a room card per person, especially in the evening when yo have to get a wristband. Plus, they were checking for wristbands at the ride entrance during evening EMH. However, you could stay in the park for evening EMH without a room key or wrist band. Getting in for morning EMH wthout a room key for each person might be a crap shoot.

So I guess I will need a room key for my 5 and 2 year old sons? Oh well, we may not need the extra hours and are probably planning on going to parks without the hours due to more crowds. I don't think my kids will make it much past the regular closing hours anyhow.

Call me evil but I am glad they check. EMH are a perk for Disney guests. If you want to goto EMH book a room. Simple, huh?
