Extra Magic Hour from WL to MK 12/30

We have reservations at WL starting on December 31st. We are staying at the Hyatt MCO on our arrival day on December 30th. We arrive about 7:00 p.m. Our initial plan was to just relax at the hotel - but I noticed that MK had their extra magic evening hours until 3:00 a.m. on December 30th. So, we are toying with the idea of going to MK that evening. Since I will be staying on site on 12/31 and those extra magic hours will technically be on 12/31, will we qualify to get in for those extra hours? Can I check-in and obtain my key card on 12/30 to be able to stay? Our plan is to not fight the crowds at the parks on 12/31, so maybe staying up late on the 30th would work out all right.

You will not be a resort guest until you check in on the 31st. The extended hours are for resort guests on 12/30. You have to show resort id to get a wristband for the EMH.

You surely can check in on 12/30 ----- if the room is available and you are willing to fork out another night's stay. Otherwise, you can't check into WL until at least 6AM and EMH will be over by then.
