Extra Magic Hour confusion!!!

Good Lord, I hope they get this all ironed out by October. I will go nuts trying to plan around being able to see AK during an EMH night and still buying the right night's ticket for MVMCP. I love the possibility of seeing the parks later at night, but I also need to know how to plan my days!

Prayers and pixie dust for all planners dealing with these uncertainties right now. Maggie

While I'm thinking about it...

On the morning Epcot opens an hour early will the rides listed for EMH in World Showcase also be open despite WS not opening until 11?

I think I'm thinking too much about this... :crazy2:

Yes Jenny, it should be blue and it's going to get fixed.

Lenshanem, none of the World Showcase attractions are open for the morning EMH, same as always. It doesn't open until 11:00am.

DH is so furious about the changes.....he is threatening to never go to WDW again and spend his hard earned money at USO/IOA. Can't say I blame him. Whatever happened to the "family" thing w/ Disney?? If they can't guarantee us a certain park EMH on a certain day, what's the incentive to stay onsite? There would be no EMH "perk"..... I am really frustrated with the whole thing! :headache:  :headache:    Wondering what to do............... :scratchin
What to do? For starters, you should relax. With all due respect, EMH is a perk, subject - as all perks are - to change. In this case, since special events at the parks usually take place during the evenings, it will be impossible to maintain a regular, unchanging EvMH schedule. In all fairness, this doesn't seem to be anti-family.

I'd also suggest that there are more incentives to stay on-site than this evening perk - it is, after all, quite new, yet folks have seen a value in staying on-site for years.

Finally, IMHO, the inevitable changes in the EvMH schedule doesn't justify becoming "furious"; after all, they are NOT taking away any regularly scheduled park hours, they are just changing when they will give you more park hours.

Be well!

IMHO - YMMV

Sorry 'bout that! You know how we guys are...we just assume that everyone else is a guy, too. ;)

Exactly what "family thing" do you believe this impacts?

Please guys, don't be so tough on bubba's mom.

It sounds like she planned her VERY short trip based on a certain schedule and now that has changed.

Really, I had California Grill booked at 90 days out for a perfect time, then come to find out Wishes isn't playing that night. Then I get a 7:30 slot for Rose & Crown for IllumiNations, but Epcot EHM is now another night.

It is frustrating! I had wanted us to do certain things for our anniversary that we don't normally do when the girls are with us and it just isn't working out. I used to enjoy planning, but now I'm just tired of it all. I think our spring break trip is gonna be just winging it. WDW changes their schedule around too often.

lenshanem, I agree that this is stressful. I'm going with my 11yo for 5 days and there are lots of things that we want to see and do. He hasn't been for a few years and I have no idea when we'll be back (my AP expires in Feb :( ). I'm just trying to go with the flow and am thankful that I'm going during a slow time and can make last minute PS's. I'm hoping to iron out which parks on which days and will wing the rest.

T&B

Thanks..... I actually had the "plan" as we left WDW last year....just haven't bought air tix, hotel/car ressies.... DH thinks the "little guy who can't afford to take his family to WDW for a week at a time is getting screwed....as long as WDW gets their money". Cheaper to stay more nights and if you happen upon an EMH, yippee for you. What about the families on a tight budget (I'm SAHM pt) who can't afford a week at a time...but somehow manage to get there each year for a couple of days--what about those folks? Those who want to go, spend money and time at WDW and want to make the most of their money by taking advantage of EMH??? THAT is what he is mad about. I'm not trying to get flamed here, just needing to vent and find out others points of view.....ya know...some encouraging words from my DIS friends........thanks!
