DH & I are going to the world for 8 nights DS1, DIL, DS2 will be coming for 5 nights. DS2 is on the reservation to stay with DS1 & DIL but will be staying in our room. Is there anyway that he can get his own key for our room? We are on the DDP so I don't know if that will mess up the credits.
I'm guessing by DS1 and DS2, you mean your first child and your second child, not that they are 1 year old and 2 years old, right?
Are those in your second room also on the DDP? Why wouldn't you just put your DS2 (as you called him) on the reservation for your room if he is staying there and you have concerns about DDP credits? Maybe I'm not understanding your issue. ETA: Just saw the 8 days vs 5 days thing. I would just call Disney and ask what they recommend. I really doubt they will give your DS a key to your room if he's on another reservation. I would guess their system only prints keys for those listed on the room reservation.
Yes both sons are adults with oldest being married hence DIL. I have a feeling there is no way around this as he is on a different reservation for fewer nights. Guess he will just have to hang with us the entire time

Unless you add him after you arrive OR within 3 days of arrival- it's then too late to add dining plans (but you will still be charged for the extra adult, assuming he is indeed an adult). I'm uncertain as to how that would reflect on the printed KTTW with respect to dining credits.
I think since you will not be over occupancy, you can add him to your room when he moves over to your room. I have read it is possible, even with the dining plan. Just check when you check in.

He could be added to the reservation after you have checked in (and on the day he arrives) and recieve his own KTTW. He would not have Dining credits in your room, but that would not matter. BUT you will be charged the extra adult charge ($10.00 to $25.00 per night depending on level of resort) for each night that he is with you. The FD cannot cut keys for individuals who are not listed in your reservation. You might give him one of the parent keys if he needs to go out alone without you. But then the two of you would need to stay together. Remember that if you try to get another key in either of your names, it will void out the previous key in that name.
