In addition to the recently announced new incentives from Disney for DVC membership, are there any other incentives available? I'm thinking of things like no interest for some period of time if you pay with a Disney-Chase credit card, can you get passes through your DVC sales rep, etc.

Any help is appreciated!

Disney Visa currently allows 6 months no interest for your down payment up to $2500.00.

If you only finance half through Disney you can get a rate of 5%. You can make your payments with a credit card. (Using our AMEX, we get 1 1/2% cash back.)

We opened up a new credit card to get 0% for one year on the other half. We'll pay both parts off in one year. So this made the most sense for us.

I saw on another post something about being able to get a $800 gift card and two annual passes if you paid with your Disney Visa. But I can't get in touch with my guide to find out more. Anyone know more about it?

I read this also but when I just logged on to my Disney Visa account it did mention the 2 annual passes but I could not find anything about the $800

I have the same question! Here is what the fine print said on the Disney VISA promotion, I am wondering if the "cannot be combined" clause refers to the other incentives being offered...

"Only valid at select Disney Vacation Club Resorts and cannot be combined with select Disney Vacation Club offers or discounts. Offer of two Walt Disney World® Annual Passes ("WDW Pass") or Disneyland® Resort Premium Annual Passports ("DLR Pass") will be awarded to Disney Rewards Visa Cardmembers upon the completion of the purchase of a minimum real estate interest in a select Disney Vacation Club Resort. New purchasers are required to buy a real estate interest equal to 160 or more vacation points and make a minimum down payment of at least 15% ("Contract"). In order to receive this offer, the Cardmember must complete the purchase of a Disney Vacation Club Contract and use a Disney Rewards Visa Card for the down payment. Limit one offer per Disney Vacation Club Membership. Upon Contract closing, two WDW Pass or DLR Pass Exchange Certificates ("Certificate") will be mailed to the purchaser's address on file with Disney Vacation Club. Certificates are non-transferable, non-assignable, and may not be sold, traded, transferred, encumbered, bequeathed, bartered, refunded or redeemed for cash and shall be void if sold or otherwise transferred for cash or other consideration. Certificates will not be replaced if lost, stolen or damaged. Each original Certificate may be used for the redemption of one (1) adult WDW Pass or one (1) DLR Pass, according to the terms and conditions set forth on the Certificate. Original Certificates can be redeemed for a child WDW Pass, but no credit for the price difference will be issued. Original Certificates used to obtain a DLR Pass must be redeemed by 6/30/10 at any Disneyland® Resort ticket window. Valid photo identification is required. Each DLR Pass obtained through this program is valid for one year from the date the Certificate is redeemed and provides unlimited admission, excluding separately priced activities and events, and arcades, to Disneyland® Park and Disney's California Adventure® Park, subject to restrictions including, but not limited to, Annual Passholder terms and conditions, capacity constraints and operating hours. Original Certificates used to obtain a WDW Pass may be redeemed at any time at any Walt Disney World® Theme Park ticket window. Valid photo identification is required. Each WDW Pass is valid for one year from the date the Certificate is redeemed and provides unlimited admission, excluding separately priced activities and events, to Magic Kingdom® Park, Epcot®, Disney's Hollywood Studios™ and Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park; and Theme Park parking and access to special Passholder events; subject to restrictions including, but not limited to, capacity constraints and operating hours. Passes are nontransferable and must be used by the same person on any and all days. Offer subject to change or termination without notice. Restrictions apply. Offer expires 5/30/09."

It states how many points a "new purchaser" must make but what about those of us with add-ons? Do you have to buy 160 pts. also?

I have the same question as the PP. Can you get the AP's with an add on? We might be adding a 25 point contract from Disney to our 50 point resale.

I talked with my guide about the Disney Visa promotion.

You have to buy 100 points.

You have to put 15% down with your Disney Visa card.

You cannot combine this offer with any other offer.

So for my 51 point add on, only $8 off.

I think I read somewhere that if you are staying on WDW property when you purchase you could have some of your bill credited towards your DVC purchase. Was I just dreaming this (would be so nice  ) or was there some truth to this?

So you have to pay 112 per point to get two annual passes?

I have to say this seems ridiculous. The value of two annual passes is like $800 for a DVC member right? How does that compare to a cruise or developer points. I am very dissappointed that Visa and Disney have chosen to separate this from the member referral incentive.

No, my understanding is that everybody gets the first discount of $8 per point. Then there's an additional rising discount, if you don't take the cruise:
$6 instead of 3-day cruise (add-on of 100, don't remember new member #)
$8 instead of 4-day cruise (add-on of 125...

The AP is instead of THAT. So it is comparable in price.

Thanks for reporting back. Very interesting. So, a person can still get the $8 per pt. credit, the $800 gift card and 2 AP's w/ the Disney Visa promotion??

Well if you add in the $800 and an AP that may be comparable, but two AP's are not comparable to the discount of $6, $8... and certainly aren't comparable to a three day cruise for a family of four on Cat 8 or 9.

The Chase site only shows the two AP's, nothing about some kind of $800 GC. Is that supposed to be the $8.00 Discount, not $800 in addition to the $8.00 discount. OH I wish my guide would come back!!

I believe you're right, that the $800 is NOT in addition to the $8 discount if you take the AP's. People use "gift card" and "discount" interchangeably sometimes, because often discounts are in the form of a Disney gift card that you sign back over to them. But as I understand it, everyone gets the base discount, which varies by property, but, for example, for VGC is $8 per point. Then you get your choice of another incentive: (1) the cruise, (2) the additional discount, or (3) (if you have a Disney Visa) the AP's. Different incentives will have different value to to people in different situations. At 100 points, AP's are probably worth more to me than $6/per point, but only if I can use them. The cruise would be way more valuable if I compare it to what I would pay cash for the cruise, but the timing is bad for me, and with 5 people, it would cost me about $1000 to use it. Not so free. I'm going to go with 125 points, and then take the extra $8 off instead of the AP's.

The other thing to note is if you take the Disney VISA AP option you have to increase your down payment from 105 to 15%.
