Extra hours - how to play them right?

two of the 4 days of our vacation a couple of mornings there are xtra magic hours. We weren't planning on going to those parks on those days due to other logistical planning.

My question is this. Is it worth going to those parks for the hour that they are open early and then head over to the other park we planned to be at or is it not worth it because they happen to be parks that you need to travel via bus to get elsewhere so we would just be wasting time in the long run?

For example, one day MGM is open early, but we planned on being at MK. Or, should I just go to MGM early and spend the day there, then go to MK the next day, run back to MGM for our dinner and Fantasmic show then go back to MK because it has extra evening hours?

I'm so confused! I made this trip too short!!!! My kids haven't been so I really want to make the most of it for them. (They're preteen and teen) so they can handle running around at all hours - better than me and DH I'm sure!!!

Just to give my opinion - I had parkhopper passes but we never hopped. I sort of planned my day so that if MGM opened early that would be the park we stayed at. I don't think I'd go just for the early hour and then hop to another park. We sort of had a short trip too and I didn't want to waste alot of time going from park to park.

I typically don't bother with the early morning extra magic hours unless I'm planning on staying at that park the whole day. An hour is just not much in Disney time. I do, however; use the night extra magic hours. We really love staying at MK until midnight. It's well worth hopping to another park for the night hours.

You can get 3 to 6 of the big rides done or fastpassed when using EMH in the morning with little or no wait at all. Then about 10:00 or 11:00 if it starts to get busy in that park hop to another one.

We have done as many as 3 parks and a watepark all in tha same day to hit the best rides.

Like tripplanner said nothing like being in MK until 2 am. a few times on our trip.

We sometimes plan our quickie trips around EMH. For example, we began at MGM at 8am one morning, did everything we wanted to get done in a couple hours, went over to Epcot and did everything we wanted to do in Futureworld by noon, then headed over to the Poly for drinks! The rest of the day we spent at MK.
