Is it true that there is an extra charge for more than two people in a room at the Disney resorts? I am not sure if there will be two or three adults going on an upcoming trip. Any info would be appreciated.

I think it is an extra $15 but I am not 100% sure.

We are taking our MIL and we are paying an extra $25.00 per night for the third adult at WL.

Moderates are $15, Deluxes are $25, I'm not sure about value. I don't believe home away from home charges extra.

I think value is $10 extra.

I thought it was 25 a night at all the hotels? It was 25 a night when we booked PORS a couple years ago..(we always bring grandpa along :)

Hmmmm..we paid $15 extra a night for 3 adults. She said because we paid for the 5th person (adult) the trundle was free.

I just wanted to clarify that the extra charge is for more than 2 adults in a room (not children). I believe the xtra adult in a deluxe is $25 and a moderate is $15.

Thanks for the responses. It looks like all have an extra charge (except the home-away-from-home). Any idea why - especially if there are only 3 people? The rooms accommodate 4. It really bumps up the room charge per night if you are trying to get a good price.

I'd really like to try for a discounted AKL rate - and splitting that 3 ways would be more affordable.

We have 4 adults that always go on our trips. What we do is book with only two adults. When we arrive we tell them that we need to add two more adults. They have never charged us when we do this at check-in. It is not a guarantee, but it is worth the try

Where and when have you tried this? We will be at the Boardwalk and I don't want to take a chance on messing up our ressie.

We want another couple to go with us, but are not positive they can get off work yet. I just called the Boardwalk direct to ask if it is a problem to add them at checkin if they find out at the last minute they are able to go. She said I would need to call reservations prior to our arrival to have them added! I am not trying to get away with anything, I just don't want to add $50.00 per night to the original ressie if they can't come.

We plan on adding my Mom when we check in to POFQ- I don't anticipate any problems. I am pretty sure they will add the $15 charge to our bill. We are also going to add an UPH for her. If I have a problem, I'll be surprised.::yes::

Increasing the cost of the room for more than two adults is pretty much standard operating procedure for most hotels. Some even charge for any extra persons over two, including kids.

Flame if you want, but we just didn't say anything. When I made the ressies, my mom didn't think she could go, then she went at the last minute. Sorry, in my opinion, I was paying almost $300.00 a night, Disney didn't need another 25.00 a night from me. If someone would have said something, I just would have said, Oh I didn't know I needed to pay more for an extra person. We didn't stay conceirge or anything so sorry don't think its that big of a deal.

I would just stress over not having enough towels, being embarrassed if caught and just knowing I did not ask. My daughter says I am the Queen of Stress and beyond doing everything legal eagle, but that is just the way I am.

Two years ago, my former TA forgot to put my FIL on our reservation. Her advice was not to worry, don't tell them, they'll never know. I couldn't do that, and told them at check-in we'd have a third adult. We checked in three times that vacation (we like to switch resorts) and we were never charged for him. Each resort told us that he's a senior citizen, we won't charge you. This way, however, he had his own room key so that he could come and go on his own, and could charge back to the room if he wanted to. Fortunately, my TA had put his name on our cruise reservation!
