Hi everyone, just back from a wonderful trip. We were due to come back Saturday, but flight was cancelled, so we returned Monday. Got to go to the parks Saturday. They did not close the parks until 7 p.m. We did many "firsts" this time. We are DVC members and have been going for years. It is amazing there are still things we have never done. Stayed at a Value (ASMO) for first time. Absolutely loved it. If you like firm mattresses, these were great! The themeing is something I will miss, but I do love the DVC resorts. Went to the Trails End Breakfast Buffet and it was something I will do every trip from now on. A great experience was going to the Poly after Wishes, getting a drink (Tradewind) and went out to the beach to watch the Electrical Water Parade. Magical! Saw Festival of the Lion King and Mermaid for first time and loved both. We staked out a place on the balcony at the train station 2 hours before Wishes and watched it from there. It was worth the 2 hour wait. That veiw is perfect! Watched Hurricane Jeanne storm thru all day Sunday. The resort was great about keeping us informed. It was a wonderful trip, but then again, I have never had a bad trip to see Mickey! Any questions, feel free to ask.

We had friends at WL and they said they had things going on to entertain the guests. But since the AS resorts don't have true "lobbies" what did you do? How did you get food or did they give you warning to take supplies back to your room?

16 days and counting for us!

Thru phone messages, they encourged everyone to purchase non perishble items for Sunday as there was a strong possibility that we could be in our rooms for 24 hours. As it turned out, the food court opened at 3:00. We pretty much stayed in our room up until that time. The characters were in the lobby when we went to the food court and the kids were having a great time.

We were at POR, arriving on Thursday pm. When we got up Friday and were asking questions...making sure we wouldn't be kicked out if our flight was cancelled on Sunday, they were encouraging us to get a fridge (long gone) and food items. I guess they are in the process of putting fridges in all rooms at POR, but if your room didn't have one yet, you had to request it..well we were wait listed. Anyways, we were able to get a flight out Saturday and were on the Escape Hurricane Jeanne flight from Tampa to Boston, just before they closed Tampa!!!
