extra counter service credits

If I have extra counter service credits can they be used as snack credits... or a few snack credits. I have a feeling it will be kind of hard to use all of our counter service credits due to not being at Disney World every day. Anyone know the answer. Thanks in advance.

We kind of used CS credits as snack credits last trip.

About 2 hours after lunch everyone would want a snack and we'd get one cs meal of chicken nuggets, with a drink and some kind of portable dessert. The 5 of us would just share the meal and it made for a great snack...for 5 of us.

I took the drink and shared with hubby
the older boys took the fries and some nuggets.
Hubby ate the rest of the nuggets
and the youngest two shared the cookie or browine.

We did it with snadwiches...cut them smaller and shared small pieces of sandwich and the chips. We even shared the dessert and took the drink with us.

It took maybe 15 minutes out of the afternoon heat and held everyone over for dinner.

But you are staying on property and credits can be used almost anywhere. In any case, you can use your CS as snacks. Depending on what you're purchasing you could stretch a CS credit to 2 or 3 snacks.

We also used 2 cs credits and fed 4 of us breakfast. (the youngest had pop-tarts...his favorite food group!)

2 cs breakfasts come with 2 coffee, 2 juice and 2 combo meals...we creatively split it all up and had a cheap breakfast that wasn't too filling to ruin ride time.

What a great idea! I'll have to remember that for the future!

FWIW, we used our extra meals on tons of Mickey shaped rice krispies. I think we came home with about 20 treats. The cashier at WL food court let us have three treats for one meal credit. I know it wasn't be best way to use the credits, but it was the only thing we could do since our flight left later in the afternoon. (In case you're wondering how we had so many credits left, my DH spent two days in bed with pneumonia and my dad had to leave two days into our seven day trip because his brother passed away. He was able to get a refund on his park ticket but not on the dining plan. Oh well...oh yeah, we were on the DxDP)

Another idea is at MS bakery. I know it used to be 1 sweet item/1 savory item/1 drink OR 2 sweet items/1 drink (I think it still is). We were leaving MK and had one CS credit left. We got two pastries to go and one drink. We went ahead and drank the soda but took the 2 pastries with us and refrigerated them at our hotel on the way home. It was nice small breakfast for us the next day.

Check with the CMs in the Grab 'n Go section at your resort. There are various CS combinations that can be used there. We did this at CBR on our departure afternoon and I think there were about 4 different options she gave us. Fruit and cheese tray, fresh fruit, bakery items, cold sandwiches, yogurt, bottled drinks there were A Lot of choices.

Make sure that you keep count. On our last trip, we had 7 CS left as we checked out of our resort! Use them for snack or whatever, just use them!!

It still kills me that those went to waste. On the plane, I realized when/where I had miscalculated and wanted to smack myself! We had paid (non DDP) for several character lunches & arrived later on day 1/had a early departure flight. :confused3

This time, I'm keeping a "tally" of them or at least reading what the count is on the reciept (which I never did before). Maybe I can get a few decent breakfasts out of it.

Thanks for the tip for using a CS at the MK bakery. Can I ask what they consider a 'savory' item? Would that be like one of the breakfast sandwiches? And then you would still get a dessert ('sweet') item? Sounds like a great breakfast!

A savory item would be anything like the sandwiches or other non-pastry type items. I'm not for sure what else they have though. Not only did we get the two pastry items before we left like I mentioned above, we also got breakfast there one day. We got a breakfast croissant, turnover, and frozen coffee. It was all yummy!

What about a child's CS credit? Is it the same amount of food or one less item? Is it easier to say you would like to use a child's CS what can I get?

Anyone know if you can trade in TS credits for CS? I have a feeling we will be eating more CS meals.

At the present, they are allowing you to do just that. Table can be used for counter and counter can be used for snack.

We stopped at Roaring Forks waiting for the Magical Express last time and used up all our leftover credits. We got some meals to go and ate them at the airport plus took home some Mickey krispie treats. We just finished the drinks before boarding the bus.
