It might have already been asked but just wondering if there will be any extra charges when we arrive at the all star sports September 2015

I have stayed offsite before and had to pay something when I arrived I don't if it was for safe rental or something like that or tax

As I have been told different things by different people and am hoping someone can help

Thank you in advance

you had to pay what's called "resort fees"

there is no such thing at Disney.
If you booked through disney direct, it's all included.

Yep - no extras on any package deal that I am aware of, we've been with Thomson, First Choice and Virgin

Orlando Cheapo lists the resort/parking fees for almost all the resorts in the Orlando area. None of the resort hotels (Disney OR Universal) charge any resort fees (but, frustratingly, Universal do charge for parking).

Major pain didn't know that. How much per day?

$20 per night to park at a Universal hotel. It's charged on the incidentals.

you take a ticket at the gate when you arrive for check in, then after that you only use your room key to get in and out, and you don't need the ticket anymore (it's only for those visiting but not staying)

it's $18 per day if you park at Citywalk

Yes ouch cheeky so and so's given the price of the rooms already.

I know - this is why I think the Universal hotels are only worth it for the Express Passes, when you can get a similar standard of hotel just 5 minutes walk from the Universal parking lot for a third of the price - with breakfast and free parking.

We will continue to stay offsite (at a cost of 13% of what Universal want for a room when we are there - gotta love peak season pricing :scared1:) - though admittedly at a less luxurious hotel. Even if we buy the express passes AND booked a luxury vehicle to take us to Universal, we would still be saving a significant sum of money. :confused3 (NB: we won't be doing either of those things!!) That said, we have been to Universal a number of times so if we don't "do it all", it's no big deal. If it were my first trip, and I had limited time, I might shell out for an onsite hotel for one night to get two days worth of express passes.

We haven't done Universal since 2010 and this next trip is 2015 hence the on site splurge. I imagine it will be another 5 years before we go back. I wouldn't go at all apart from the HP stuff but the kids will love it. They are both major coaster and thrill ride junkies. Club Level is a treat as we have never done it before and wouldn't for 2 weeks but this is only a four night stay. DS will use the gym access it gives us and eat enough to make it pay all on his own I imagine!!!! But I do object to paying for parking I really do :(

The Universal hotels are lovely and it's a great experience. You will have a great time! :)
