Is it really true that you can purchase an extra bun at some CS places. I've seen that several of them offer a "double" cheeseburger on their menu and thought that this would be a good solution.

Yes you can, we did at Peco Bills & Electric umbrella (think that's what it's called).

You definitely can. The price, however, is not consistent. Some places charge $0.79 and others $1.15, etc.

DH and I ordered that meal exactly at Pecos Bill's in May! Plenty of food for us!

Seems like it would be easier to just cut the burger in half. :confused3

But then you have to both have the same toppings on your burger. With the seperate buns, you can load it up however you would like. And some of those topping bars allow you to be pretty expressive.

yes, you can do it. Just last year a CM told me "great saving" or something like that and she also said "not many people know about this". So, It is allowed.

FYI, Electric Umbrella has the highest bun--almost $2!

Yes, it's definitely allowed. We've done it many times. A double burger is too much for any of us, one burger is enough. We split the fries and get an extra cup of ice to split the soda. If it's at the hotel we use our refillable mugs and get a bottle of water with the meal for the room. It works out great.

The cost of the bun changes. I've been given the bun free many times, otherwise it's been no more than $1. I'm surprised to hear someone paid $2, although I would still do that instead of buying a whole other meal.

We've done it at Pecos Bills. You do end up with the same amount of meat, but not the same amount of bun... My DH & I need less carbs so we opt to just cut it down the middle, but my kiddos... they need the carbs! Skinny things! They just burn it up! And the double is too thick for them. (Sometimes I just take one of the patties off because they don't seem like they'll eat a whole burger.)
