We will be staying in an OKW studio in May and I was wondering if there is an extra charge if you request an extra blanket for the beds. I have found posts about the extra towel charges but I haven't come across anything for extra blankets. Thanks bunches :flower3:

When we stayed at SSR in January there was an extra blanket in the top of the closet in both the studio and 1bdrm(we changed from Studio to 1brm in the middle of our stay). I am not sure if they would charge you or not if you needed more than that. Hope this helps some.

SSR has a sleep sofa in it, hence the blanket in the closet. OKW has two beds in the studio, so there are no extra blankets. Each bed does have a blanket and bedspread, however. DVC does not provide extra bedding.

I travel with a heating pad. :) In the winter time I find the living room sofa sleeper at OKW to be much colder than the rest of the villa. All those windows, I guess, even if they are double paned.

When we were at SSR at Christmastime my DD got the stomach flu and didn't leave the villa for 3 days. One of the days she had the chills and DH called and asked if we could have an extra blanket for her, no problem, they delivered it and we were not charged anything for it.

We just returned last week from AKV. It was quite chilly for me at night (although the afternoons were very warm) so I went to the closet to get the extra blanket. (we were in a 2-bedroom) There was none. I found this odd as every other 2-bedroom we have stayed has had one in the closet. Luckily we drive so DH went to the car and retrieved a throw we had brought with us. DS and DDIL were in a 1-bedroom down the hall and they had to call housekeeping to bring bedding for our 8 year old DGS who was using the pull out sofa. AKV doesn't provide bedding for this? I thought all of the DVC resorts that have a pull out automatically do this. :confused3

They should have the bedding for the pullout readily available. It is possible it was an oversite, or they may simply have not had any back from the laundry facility when the rooms were serviced.

We checked into OKW once, and one of our beds was missing the bedspread. They had simply not had enough delivered from the laundry facility. A quick call to housekeeping fixed the problem.

We found mousekeeping seriously lacking in this reguard when we were there in January too. There was a zippered plastic bag in the closet of the kitchen that held bedding for the sofa sleeper and sleeper chair, but the second bedroom was missing its bedding for the sofa sleeper. Also, when I ordered and paid for an extra cleaning between guests, I got something much less than what I expected. I had to have them come back again to get it done right, and even then they didn't give me the bedding I needed for the pull out in the second bedroom.

Some of the sleeper sofas have the bedding stashed in a compartment in the bed. These were the ones that the cushions stay attached when you open the sleeper sofa. If there is a coffee table that is more like a trunk, you will often find the bedding in there (like at WL if I remember correctly). Or it may be in the closet in a zipper bag.

Many times we found the sleeper sofa already made up and it hadn't been used (you can tell by the sheets).

We were at both VWL and SSR for March break this year. In both cases we called and asked for extra blankets. Not a full bedding package but just extra blankets. We had two teenagers on the pull out and they each wanted a blanket. Extras were delivered with no problem. They probably wouldn't have delivered extra sheets but we often ask for a blanket or sometimes a pillow and have never been refused. The blanket usually arrives within half an hour.

We got an extra blanket at both BCV and AKV two weeks ago without any charge. At BCV we didn't have one at all and at AKV, I didn't find it until after I'd called. They brought it though at both places without any problems and there was no charge.

We have had no problems with towel or bedding requests in the past. Service is great!

With the exception of the no bedding we were pretty lucky as far as mousekeeping. Both of our rooms were very clean and tidy although I did find the kitchen set up a bit weird. We had tons of problems with check-in. It was an absolute nightmare. The CM who took care of us at first couldn't have possibly known a thing about checking guests into a hotel. He could have used a good attitude adjustment as well. The manager did come out and apologize to us personally though so that was nice.

I have a question about towels... we are going as a party of 7; will there be a few extra towels in the room as they usually do in regular rooms or do you basically get 2 per person on reservation?

We are in 2BRs and hopefully THV

Oh, you mean the sofa bed isn't always made up? The one time we've used it, it was, so I assumed that was normal.

There will be towels for the total allowable occupancy of the room. For a two bedroom , there will be 8 bathtowels 4 hand towels, 8 washcloths and two mats. Likely a few extra in the THV, as it officially sleeps 9, doesn't it?

Usually is it a set of towels (4/2/4 and a mat) for each bathing area in the unit.

In a two bedroom you will get eight bath towels, four hand towels and eight face cloths. Unless you are in AKV or BTL, then add one more for the ninth person.

You can pay for additional towels if you want more.
