Extra battery or external battery pack for cellphone?

I recently switch from the iPhone to Samsung Galaxy S4 and now have a dilema.

I went into this already knowing battery life would not be as good and know there will be times where I won't be near a plug in.

I am trying to decide if I should buy an extra battery or external battery pack?


And if it external battery pack do you have a recommendation?

I have a power rocks charger I got from hsn for around $30 and it works great on my s3. I get about a 70% charge from it, although my battery lasts the whole day. We bought other brands for the kids and they seem to work well. It's considered a lipstick charger and really easy to throw in my bag.
