We are going on a family trip this February for a week. My husband, a teacher, can only join us for the weekend (this will put us over 2 adults in the room). When booking our stay, we were told that we would have to pay the fee for having more than 2 adults in the room for our entire stay, not just the two nights he will be there. Is this correct? In all of our trips, we have never had this issue because we have always all gone down together. Thanks for your help.

I would book for who is going to be there when you arrive and then when he comes add him on - they can decide then if they wish to charge him the extra fee - and it should just be for the days he is actually there. Often they waive that fee.

We need him on the reservation though as we are flying and using Magical Express. I don't mind paying the fee, I just thought it seemed strange that we would be charged it for our entire length of stay. Thanks for the advice though!

This is correct. Book your stay not counting him, and then add him when you check in (or when he arrives). Just make sure that you request 2 full/queen beds if you only have 2 in the room to start (not King)... I did this once, and I called twice to make sure it was noted that we would be having 3 people for the first 3 nights. Of course, our flight was delayed and when we arrived the only room they had was a King room. After quite a fiasco, we moved rooms the next day.

just use his arrival day as his check-in day for DME. I don't think he has to be added before he gets there unless your doing DDP.
People arrive on diff. days all the time and are staying in the same room .

Disney has never charged us for a guest arriving later for less days and all have used ME. You can always explain at check-in and they will only charge for the 2 days.

Actually we were not charged for the 3rd adult, only for the rollaway, both times. The frint desk just told us to call housekeeping for the rollaway, which we did, and then we called again to be sure they removed it when it was no longed needed. No problems either stay. :)

Hope it works out well for you! :)
