Can anyone recommend an external battery pack that we can bring on our trip to share between our iphone 3/iphone4? I'm pretty sure that at least one of our phones wont last because my ds will be playing games in all of the ride lines! I have seen the trent recommended as well as mophie. What about PowerGen? They seem to be less expensive and also have great reviews on amazon. Any help is appreciated.:)

I just bought the powergen from amazon for my 4S. I have not had a chance to really test it out yet ( I will be using it in the parks in a few weeks) I bought it based on the great reviews and the price was a lot lower than the Mophie. I will be doing a few tests this week to see how well it works. I will post a follow up in a few days.

I just bought the scosche go bat. I tested it out and it charges my iphone 4s fully twice, and then a bit more. I really like it. It's about the size of my phone, but lighter.

I have the iPhone 4 (not the 4S), and I bought the Mophie before our last Disney Trip. I've been very pleased with it, and it certainly helped at WDW because I was taking a lot of pictures and video while I was there, and I didn't have problems with battery life. It was pricey, but worthwhile for the convenience of not having to worry about the battery on my phone dying.

The only downside of it is that it makes the phone a bit bulkier and heavier than it would otherwise be, and when I use the Mophie, I can't use any of my cute cases for my phone. And my phone doesn't fit on my iHome when my Mophie is on it. But I usually only use the Mophie when I know I'm going somehwere that my phone will get super-heavy use or if I'm traveling.

Phonesuit Primo Power Core. 8200mAh, will fully charge an iPhone 4/4S 4+ times, about the size of an iPod Classic. Also does 10W output so it'll charge an iPad as well. About $100.

I have an HTC EVO, do they make something like this for it? Would also like to be able to use it with my iPad and iPod Touch.

I have an IPhone 4 & I love my Mophie. I have a white one with a Mickey sticker on it! I love that I keep it on my phone & charge both at the same time & it uses the Mophie battery first - no need to swith to battery power - I just have it set to use the battery first then my phone battery. I was able to use my IPhone constantly without power issues while in the park. I charged them at night.

Most of these battery packs have 5V USB output ports, so they will work with anything that takes a 5V DC USB power source.

I had a chance to test the powergen today. So I unpacked it and it was pretty self explanatory to use. The size was about the 1/2 the size of my Iphone with otterbox. It seems well built and not like a cheap one I looked at down at staples.
I ran my battery on my phone down to 30% by using the lines app to track wait times. :thumbsup2 I then plugged it in and waited. It took almost an hour to charge it back up to full power. I figure that will be great for a sit down lunch or dinner. (Though the unit is small enough you could charge it in the bottom of a purse or back pack...it also comes with a shorter cord to do just that and not get tangled up with stuff in your bag. After charging the phone back up to 100% the battery still had 3 out of 4 bars still lit up so it had enough to charge at least 1-2 more times. It also has a flashlight built into it but I dont see that as too much of a plus for me personally. All in all, I am happy for $40. It should do exactly what I need it to do.
Hope this helps!

I love the Mophie! I use my phone battery first and then switch it to the Mophie pack. It takes about an hour to recharge my battery then I switch it off. I just got back from NYC and was impressed that it worked so well. I used my phone all day for taking photos, some texting, and facebooking...I was able to recharge my phone with the Mophie and still finished both days in the city with a half charge left on my phone. I didn't even get close to running out of battery. :goodvibes

Ditto, I love the mophie as well.

I love that it doubles as a case. We each have one for our iphones.

It doesn't interfere with the camera and it is pretty sturdy. I have dropped it a few times and nothing was damaged.

The mophie juice pack plus is more money but I like how easy it is to access the various buttons. The regular mophie just has holes for the buttons while the plus has covers that make it easier to push the buttons.

We just got back from WDW and several in the group had Morphie. It worked great! Loved that it was like a phone case that charges too.

A bunch of us in my office got Mophies for the trade show we had recently and liked them... I was also able to find something similar for my coworker with a Galaxy S. A Mophie for the 4/4S though won't fit one for the 3GS though because the case is designed for each phone.

Well, I like the idea of the Mophie, but I was looking for something we could all use. My dd is getting a iphone 4 or 4s for her birthday, but dh and I still have 3's which we will be upgrading after the trip so I'm trying to get the most charge for my money. Although, it seems that I could get mophie's for dh and I from amazon at a very low price since we still have 3's. Hmm.... since we only need it for this trip, maybe I should just get something like a powergen that we could all share?? uggh choices..

edited to say that I just noticed that the mophie doesn't have a screen cover..that may be a deal breaker since my ds has my phone almost more than me! lol

I have a zagg sparq. I love it. Haven't used it in the parks yet, but it is nice and small.

we use something called a mili it was about 40$ and can charge any usb device it can charge my iphone about 1-1.5 times and dd ipod 2 times i keep it in my purse.
