I know all the financial gurus say these are a waste of $, but I've had had good luck with two big ticket items this week -
Pictures have been blurry with my digital camera - mostly inside, no flash ones - I've sent it to Staples several times - apparently after the 3rd try they send you $ to replace it - I have a $349 Staples gift check on its' way to me! Digi cams are outdated so quickly, anyway... we bought one of the just-bigger-than credit card cameras for vacation, etc... I think with the gift card $ I'm going to get one of the 10x+ optical zoom ones - either the Kodak Pro 850, Canon S2 or Nikon H2 (I may have the letters/numbers mixed up!). We paid $50 for the warranty, which was expiring in JUNE!
*My computer is a Gateway Profile all in one - honestly, I think it was a lemon from the beginning! We've had (under warranty) the hard drive motherboard, and other stuff replaced - whatever is wrong with it now, they've had the part on order for for over 14 business days = I can request a replacement computer. Finally got word today that the order is being placed, I should have an order # within a couple of days - for a new,not refurb computer, equal to or better than specs than the last one. For us, we had upgraded memory, processor, etc., so it's almost a basic model - the only upgrade will be the dvd writer, disk drive and hard drive. Cost today is about half of what I paid for it 3 years ago. I think we paid $120 for the warranty, which was set to expire in AUGUST.
Now the stalking of delivery people will begin!
