Extended hours over Columbus weekend?

http://media.disneywebcontent.com/St...nt_october.pdf

I have very mixed feelings on the extended park hours. Mostly it makes me think that Disney is expecting huge crowds :scared: for the week we are there (Oct 11-16)!

I would expect it to be pretty busy. My kids have a long weekend with Friday and Monday off, so I tried to book a trip 2 weeks ago. I couldn't get a discounted room anywhere - no military discounts, no passholder discounts, no Florida resident discounts. The cheapest thing I could get was 4 nights at CBR for over $900, which was more than I was willing to pay. I even had my best friend check DVC studios to see if I could rent points last-minute and there was not a single studio or 1-bedroom available anywhere.

Although my kids were disappointed that we couldn't go then, I'm OK with putting it off a month if it was going to be so crowded.

Nope, I'm conflicted because it probably means they expect huge crowds. When I booked this week the crowd calendars were predicting a level 3 crowd in Epcot and AK all week. I really didn't believe the level 3 predictions, but it sure was nice to think about a "calm" Disney vacation, rather than the crowd levels of August, which is when we've had to visit over the past 7 years.

It's also annoying that it's not coming up on MDE. If you don't know about all the "other" Disney planning sites, you aren't going to know about extended hours, and that'll impact your trip.

Finally, selfishly, my plans are already made around the hours that have been posted for months now, and it's going to be a huge undertaking to change them. I would LOVE to stay in MK until 3am but have to consider how this'll impact the rest of my trip, have to re-plan our park days, look for more FP+ and ADRs if I change the schedule, etc. I'm only "upset" about the extended park hours because I want to take advantage of them, but it's going to be a huge amount of work and re-planning to do so!

So, because of your plans they should keep the same hours and not extend. Don't change your plans and go on with what you have. Stop complaining about ever single thing disney does or stop going.

It would be so helpful if they would update the official site with these hours.

I believe all but Mk are updated. These changes were updated Friday afternoon. Not certain what the hold up is but I bet it has to do with getting the rp updated.

For those that can, I would suggest moving MK days off that weekend. Also do not do food and wine that weekend.

The week before Columbus day starts to build thorough the week but isn't bad at all until Friday, which is noticeably busy. Saturday is very busy. They have tossed in a surprise morning emh at MK. Sunday is also busy. Columbus Day Monday will be less busy and by Wednesday, things will be well off from the weekend but a bit busier than the week before.

Question- I see MK 9-1am.....but way down below it says 'EMH (2) MK'

SOOOO....does this mean that EMH is 11-1am OR 1am-3am????

I am going with my SIL and MIL for 4 nights before my mom and son arrive- it's a girls thing...I am so excited! MK at 2am?! Seriously- that's like bucket list worthy for me!

:cool1::cool1:Just now seeing the updated hours. Woohoo!! Then realizing the EMH are on top of the 1am...3am!!! We arrive around 7:30 on 10/11 and we will get to go to the Magic Kingdom. Pretty pumped!! Now, how does that affect HS rope drop on Sunday?!? Hmmm...
