Is this "Resorts" forum the best place to hear rumors of extended Free Dining or is another one better? Any blogs or other sites discussing it?
I really want to hear SOMETHING. I know that Disney is saying they are cutting deep discounts, but it doesn't make sense considering everyone in America has received the Monster discount...except me (BooHoo!). So, it seems logical to me there will be something great Oct-Nov-Dec. I'd just like to read encouraging info from others!!!

You have found the best place for any info on Oct- Dec FD. The codes & rates board will have all the details you need.
I have found out on the Dis before anywhere else!

Considering that Bob Iger already announced they were going to cut back on the discounts this year, I am figuring they are going to wait to see if people are booking up resorts later in the year already.

I wouldn't expect the announements as early as it was last year, because they already had a grip on the poor economy. They are going to try to recoup this year.

The first FD announcement was about a month late compared to the usual time it is announced so I would think that any extension of the offer will be announced later than usual too! Good luck!

Wait until we have a double dip recession. The discounts will be back in full force if they ever even stop at all. IMHO - They are addicted to discounts and will continue to be.

I agree. I think they have purposely overpriced their resorts so they can offer discounts. JMHO.

How can they claim to be cutting back but sending out huge PINS in record numbers?
Announcement later than normal? Hadn't thought about that but I bet you are right. Since the Sept FD was announced late, the extension will be announced late. So, instead of late June, it will be late July?

Actually, extended free dining was offered in late July last year, first to Disney Visa card holders and then to the public.

The pins are a drop in the bucket, we just think they're in record numbers due to being on the DIS and all of us posting when we receive one.

I am planning on going Nov 2-7 for honeymoon/food and wine and have not booked yet, hoping that fd will be extended as well! If they don't announce it by August, I'll just bite the bullet and book. I do love Dixie Landings(PO Riverside)! *sigh*

still waiting for FD as well....I sure hope they don't wait until August to announce it!

I'm not sure if this helps anybody, i.e. if you can book through Disney UK as opposed to Disney US?, but Disney UK are currently offering 2011 early booking discounts of 15% plus free dining (QSP for values and regular DP at moderates/deluxe) for stays 1 Jan – 17 Feb 2011, 1 May – 2 Jun 2011 and 1 Aug – 18 Nov 2011, also 42% off for stays at OKW or SSR. These have to be booked before 1 November 2010 for 2011 travel.

For 2010 they are offering free dining 5 July-18 November 2010.
