I'm trying to decide if I should extend our trip by one day. We currently are staying 7 nights and doing the parks 6 days (4 full days, MVMCP with nothing else that day, and Epcot with rest day in the am). It is not a Commando plan, and we are taking lots of breaks. Even so, I know we all will need the downtime. If I add the extra night, we can have 1 FULL day of rest/play plus the 2 mornings. Would that extra day of relaxation make our trip that much more enjoyable? I'm thinking with small kids that it would.

Updated to add: I successfully added an extra night at the Grand Floridian Sugar Loaf Concierge at the AAA rate! Now going for 8 nights. Got the airfare switched and changed the Family Magic Tour with no problems. Yippee!

Thanks!

An extra day is always a good idea. Not just for the 'down' time but also in case the weather or something else does not cooperate. We always put an extra day in to catch up with the things that we missed the first time around.

With small children a slower pace insures that everyone will have a better time. I so feel for the families on a 3 day, see everything, or else trip.

BTW, an extra week is even better. :flower:

More is Better. Even when you plan it all out you always wish you had more time. Something you don't plan that you don't want to miss always seems to come up or you find something new that you never knew about before. I always say I'm going to at least one of the water parks but I never seem to get there.

We usually do our trips at a leisurely pace now - but I've decided to add one day in the middle of the trip for sleeping late, enjoying the resort pool, and then a really nice dinner somewhere. And adding one day as our last day, and that will also be a sleep late day, enjoy the pool, and a really nice dinner to close out our trip!

That way, we'll come back nice and refreshed (and ready to plan our next trip!)

Enjoy your trip!!!!

Longer is always better. Go for as many days as you can afford, time and money-wise.

I would add the extra day as well. It would be nice to just relax at the resort and maybe go to DTD for a few hours.

I also extended my trip from 6 to 7 nights. The hardest was switching the airfare. But, luckily...we were able to. So in 2 weeks I will be spending a week at the WL and Disneyworld!!! :cool1:

Every year our trips get longer. 2003 - 7 nights/8 days at WDW (GF), 2004 - 3 nights at HRH (Universal) 8 nights GF (WDW) 2005 - 2 nights Nick Hotel (just enjoying hotel) 15 nights at GF (WDW). Who knows what 2006 will bring. I always end up adding more nights. Right now we're scheduled for 11 nights at WDW and 4 nights at HRH (Universal) but who knows how many I'll have added by JUly. I love having the time to do things at our own pace and also to enjoy all the kids activities liked Pirate Cruise, dds' first facial, and a day at the spa for myself. THis way I don't feel rushed.

Thank you all! Yes, I'm very excited about our extra day. I don't know if I'll even plan any ADR's as I have no idea what we'll do that rest day. Probably go to DTD and shop, maybe see the movie that night at FW, or go goof off at the Boardwalk. Thinking we'll eat at Earl of Sandwich for lunch and maybe Beaches and Cream for dinner (ice cream!).

I'm really excited!

Congratulations on the extra day! ;) I think you've made the right decision. With three small children that extra rest day will be well appreciated, I'm sure! :sunny:
