Express passes for HHN

Great info!! I am staying at Universal for 3 nights in October and plan on going to HHN twice (Sat & Sun night). I was going to get an express for 1 of the nights but am thinking of waiting until I get down to see if they offer them cheaper in the S&S area. Just to confirm, if I do not have a stay and scream ticket can I still get into the area early as long as I am in the park before 5:00? I am probably going to buy the 7 day 2 park unlimted ticket and then purchase the HHN general admission tickets.

Thanks.

you can only be in the park once it closes and go to the S & S holding area, if you have any type of hhn ticket.

if you have the 7 day 2 park pass, go to guest services that day you are in the park and buy the stay and scream ticket then. they sell them and you will get the discounted admission cost for it. that will allow you to stay in the park in the holding area.

if you have not bought the 7 day passes, CALL and buy them and the S&S tickets at the same time.

do not buy them separately.

(i just checked the website and did not see where you could do the day ticket and add on.
i might be looking at the wrong site in case anyone else has been able to.)

you can only get the discounted hhn ticket if you purchase a day ticket.
your pass is valid for obtaining the hhn ticket add on.

it is a personal choice to buy the express passes once you are at hhn event.

i am buying mine in advance.

but, i am going at a busy time period.

your other question, saturdays are always crowded unless you go the beginning of the event. sundays from oct 11th on, are becoming more crowded each year.

if i had to chose which night to buy the ep's, it would be for saturday.

i buy ep's for every night i am there.
crowds, long waits in lines gives me the willies......

If you have a Frequent Fear pass you don't have to get an EP, even on the most crowded nights because you don't HAVE to see every house. We go into the S&S area, hit 3 or 4 houses before it gets crowded then, as soon as the crowds get too much, head for the shows and the scare zones. Next visit we again do S&S then get to the houses we didn't see the first time before the crowds build up. If the crowds never build up you get to see everything without an EP. If they do build up you still get to see everything without an EP.

The only thing you have to keep in mind with this is that when they open early they don't open all the houses early, only 1 or 2. So you may end up seeing the same 2 when you get to leave S&S, it's after you see them you head for the ones you missed the first time. We have always seen everything we wanted to see and have never bought EPs.

If you absolutely have to do everything or you like doing each house multiple times in one night by all means buy the EP, just don't feel that you have to get it to be able to enjoy your night at HHN.

we all do hhn differently for different reasons.
the way purseval does the event works great for him and others.
then you have the addicts like me. :teeth:

for me, i have friends from the chainsaw board that work the event.
each house and zone has a Team A and a Team B.
they work 45 minutes on then off when the other Team comes in place.

i time it where i can see both Teams in action for the houses and zones.
it is my personal preference to do it that way.
gotta see my homie friends in action!

i do the houses prior to when it gets dark.
i do repeat of the houses that i previously went thru while it was still light.
(that is when i use my ep.)
i think it makes a difference in the houses.

i come too far away and spend too much money not to be able to do everything i would like during the event.
that is why i buy the eps. it also allows me to take in two shows at the event and still cover all the houses and zones.

i think of it as car insurance.
you have it when you do need it.

the dates i go have crowds. there has not been a night i have gone that i didn't need the ep. it has saved me long waits in line.

you have to realize that i am completely and totally addicted to HHN.:worship:

i could never go each night and not do all the houses even though i go 4 nights in a row.

i book each next year's trip the day after i get home from the current one.

this is my 10th HHN.
next year will be my 11th.......

Wow! This is so awesome! I had no idea how the scareactors rotated throughout the night. I think I saw a group of them going into Doomsday last year. I guess they were coming back from their break. I was like how come they aren´t inside!

I wonder if I´ll be somewhat addicted in the same manner when I reach my 10th HHN! :scared1:

I have a HHN addiction also.I missed a few years but this will be my 4'th straight and will never miss it again....

the scareactors usually come in thru a side or back door to the houses.
sometimes you can see them lining up to go in for their time period.
i think that is kewl you were able to see that..

i try to avoid going thru the houses during that exchange time.
but, that is just me.
i think the houses run better when the entire team is in their assigned position and the switch off has been totally completed.

when the time for Team A is over, Team B has lined up already and they begin to switch the teams for the house.
this continues throughout the event each night.

sometimes you will read a post about how great a certain house was. maybe it was a house that you went thru and didn't think it was anything but average.

there are times it is the team that makes a difference.
(now, that is just my opinion, i think all the teams do a super job but there are moments for me in some houses that wow me.)

They also tweak things during the season so it isn't exactly the same the last week in October as it is the first week. We will probably go opening weekend then again around the 3rd week of October just to see how they've got their groove on.

so very true!

bill and ted's show makes changes also throughout the event.

Same here! We are coming down from PA for a full 2 weeks this year. I can't believe I didn't start going until HHN16. But then again I was more if a workaholic before then! But I learned my lesson, life is too short, so 2 vacations a year is mandatory now :)

Also, I know a lot of you have heard me say it before, but, for those that haven't, there is one word for Stay and Scream and that is
