Express Pass???

Okay, couple of questions. We are doing Universal Sat 8/20-Mon 8/22. I have heard that you can purchase an express pass for about $20/day pp. How does this work? Is it separate from the tickets I already purchased? Will we need it? I know the parks are less crowded towards the end of Aug, but since it falls on a weekend I was wondering what others thought. We have never been to Universal before (Me, Hubbie, and 3 kids) so I would be willing to pay extra one of the days if needed. My children are all under 50 inches, so some of the rides at IOA are already nixed from our list, would these be the attractions with the most lines? Sorry so long. Phyllis.

You get a book of express "tickets," one for each ride. They basically allow you to use the express entrance ONCE for each ride. It is separate from admission tickets. I don't know if you need it or not, sorry. I can tell you that there are express kiosks for some (maybe all???) rides. You scan your admission ticket and it will give you an express pass for that ride. It gives you a choice of times to use it. They do run out, so you would want to get your express pass for certain rides first. Spiderman, mummy, hulk, shrek come to mind as their lines can get pretty long. HTH

We purchased the express plus a few weeks ago for 1 day. It was 15.00 but the amount will vary on the season. We did not get a book?? We bought ours at Customer Relations (or whatever they called it) when we first got into the park. We got a plastic card that had a date on the back of it. You just flashed the card at the CM and you got FOTL. Although it says you can only use it once per ride, we used it several times, no problem. We've never been in the summer, sorry
