I thought that you just got into the Harry Potter part of the park an hour early with the express pass with the hotel stay. I got an email from RPH this morning saying that you could also go on the Spiderman ride as well the hour early...but that the express pass wouldn't start for it until after regular opening time. Bonus...but, I imagine we will be in the other part of the park the entire time.

Anyway...maybe everyone already knows this but if not..now you do!

If you stay onsite you get early admission into Wizarding World an hour before the regular crowds shuffle in. They are doing a promotion where you are allowed to also ride the new Spiderman ride during that hour as well.

Express pass isn't early admission. You do get both by staying onsite, however. People who purchase offsite packages through Universal get the early admission but not the express access.

Express pass is your hotel key which allows you to get into the express lane as many times as you like. Not all rides have the express lane. Those rides are Forbidden Journey, Pteranadon Flyers and Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.

During early admission, you don't use your express pass as pretty much everyone allowed in is also staying onsite. During regular hours, it can be a wonderful, wonderful thing as most park goers don't stay onsite.

Thanks...I just added the part that express would not be available for Spider Man during the early morning hour as that is what the email specified. Some of you who post on here seem to know everything...I mean that in a good way...not the other. Do you go frequently? I am just wondering.

Appreciate all you post and I have learned a ton!

Sorry, I misunderstood your post. I thought you were confused about the difference between early admission and express.

Those of us who post a lot frequent the parks. I've been going for many, many years and have stayed at all the hotels many times. When we first started going, there were other regulars on this board who helped tremendously.

since spiderman has now reopened, UO for now, is going to have that ride open for the onsite guests.

a nice added perk.

by doing this, it will help spiderman not to be totally crowded when the park officially opens.
some early entry guests will probably have been on the ride by the time the park opens to all.
that's only a guess on my part.

it is a nice thing that you posted about the email on spiderman early hour.

quite a few of us regular posters read the mailers or go to the AP site for different perks that arise over the months for the guests, but don't always post it.

for those that don't have that info, it is a good thing you created a thread about it for others to know in advance.

i've been doing the darkside since 1993.
haven't missed a year since then.

I wish I could go every year...maybe twice. I have been 3 times and getting ready for #4. Been to Disney a few more times. So far, I have said it was for the kids...but the kids and most everyone else knows that I love it as much or probably more than they do. If I were a FL resident, I would def have an annual pass to both.

I always thought it would be fun to work at one of the parks...doing something fun in costume in one of the shops. Maybe it would get old if I had to do it every day but seems pretty sweet to me now.

Last summer I took 6 of my kids that are at home (couple in college). I said it was because maybe it would be the last time we could take a trip like that together. This spring break I am taking 4 of them that are still in high school (1 middle school). One of these days they won't be here to drag along with me!

i used to say i needed to go to take the sons.
took the gang every year and sometimes took one son at a time during the same year.

i wised up........

i leave Mr Mac and the sons at home and i go solo to orlando.

i do both resorts/parks and can eat ice cream for breakfast without anyone being in my face about it.

I want to be just like you when I grow up!!

I stayed onsite at the RP (just came home Sunday:sad1:)and didn't know that about the Spiderman ride. It probably wouldn't have made a difference to us because it was all about Harry Potter that morning (we did IoA Sat and Univ.on Sunday. Before that we were in WDW).

We loved that Express pass. We blew by the crowds three times that day and did Spiderman. It was a fantastic ride!

We lucked out in everything we did that day. We did HPFJ twice in the morning - first time no wait, second time 1/2 hour in line. Later in the day, it rained hard for about an hour which thinned out crowds in the park and we hightailed it over to Harry Potter and did FJ twice more with absolutely no wait. In my wildest dreams, I never imagined that I would have the opportunity to ride that ride four times in one day! DD and I are happy campers!:):):):):)

I think the early admission for Spiderman is just starting. Might not have been available for you anyways.

Congrats! Sounds like a lovely day :cheer2:

Could I ask a question about the express pass when staying at the hotel?

If I was staying only on say weds. will I be able to use my express pass or early admission to harry potter on both weds. and thurs.?

My thought is to simply pay for a one night stay at universal in between our disney stay, but go to universal both our check in day and check out day.

Yes you get the benefits for both the day you check in and the day you check out.

My brother is joining us for the weekend and they booked a room Saturday night so they can have the passes for both Sat and Sun.
