We are planning a week-long trip to Orlando around 8/19. We are considering a first visit to Universal for either a day or two, but not 100% decided. We will be visiting WDW for at least 2 days. I am pricing out our various ticket options and trying to determine what will work best for us. We may put Universal off altogether for another couple years, but if I can justify the combined expense of doing 2 days at WDW and 2 days at Universal I will try to make it work. The voice in my head keeps telling me it's so much more economical to do more days at the same park franchise, but it would be fun to do both. I can't skip WDW since my youngest has asked to go back to MK every single day for the last 8 months. And I love it!
Undercover Tourist has the crowd level at around a 4 that week. This seems manageable. We may stay at Cabana Bay or Surfside but will not stay at one of the major hotels that includes the pass. We have a big family so staying in 2 rooms at one of the big 3 is out of our price range. If we utilize the early entry with the other hotel, I am wondering if Express Pass will be necessary at this time of year and would love to hear from anyone who has been in August.
I am sure either myself or my husband can also use the single rider line for our older kids- maybe our 9 and 10 year old? Not sure how tall you need to be to use this independently. But, this could be a way for them to get some extra rides without the pass.
