Express Pass good for one park or both?

We are buying 2 day 2-park "hoppers". IF we need to buy Express Passes (will wait until we are there and assess the crowd situation, Mid-October), are the express-passes good for both parks or do we need new ones if we "hop" to the other park? We could swing the $40/50 for passes if we can park hop with them, but can't afford to buy two express-passes for two days.

You can purchase either. The park hopper ones, of course, are more expensive.

You have to buy one for each park. We have found that in Oct unless around the Holiday, that you dont need them unless for the Harry Potter ride. I am sure you would for that unless you want a huge line. Also you can only use them once for each ride they are allowed for. So for instance you cant use them to ride Harry Potter twice. To me that really sucks. We have bought them before and they have been useful but it also depends on what time of year. I would say no, not for Oct.

One more thing. If you stay at one of their on site motels you get the express pass free. Also check the universal site for prices of the Express passes on the dates you will be going for..if they are low like 25.00 extra per park that is an indication it will be a low crowd level. Man that site is a pain to navigate. Looks like a 1-day 1-park EP is $19.99 for the day I'm looking at or $25.99 for the 1-day 2-park "hopper" version.

So for the 7 adults going, to hop with the EP it would cost: $181.93. Still cheaper than getting an on-site room for one night (which we considered).

Unless they change by the time we go, Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey does not accept Express Pass.

So we'd have to pay $25.99 for passes on Thursday and then $31.99 for passes on Friday??????? Because EP are only good for one day right? You can't buy a two day two park EP?

That makes $408 for 7 adults. Maybe we should just get a room or two?

They charge according to how crowded they expect the park to be. Your pass is dated so you can't buy an thursday pass and use it on friday.

If you are really intent on getting the express passes for two days, it is worthwhile to look into the price of a room. Rooms are pretty pricey in Oct. though without annual passes or stay more save more (which doesn't apply for a one night stay). If you take into consideration that price of your other hotel, it may turn out to be better. It is worth investigating.
