Express Pass for single rider?

Hi everyone,

I'll be going solo to Universal on the 26th and am wondering if it's worth buying the $109.99 express pass if I'm a single rider? Normally I'd assume it's not, but during my last time in Universal Hollywood, the Mummy single rider line took longer than expected as they weren't really taking many single riders. Was wondering if the single rider and express pass lines are comparable in Florida?

In the countless times I've been to Universal over the years when having an AP I've only had that issue with the Mummy once. Traditionally the Mummy is actually (from my experience) been one of the fastest SR lines and typically doesn't have that many people in it.

EP traditionally doesn't sell out so there is no need to purchase ahead of time. I would go to to the parks and do your thing, if it seems necessary then I would buy it. I don't know if you plan doing only one, or both, but Universal has the most SR lines by just a smudge. On average the last time I had AP, if I start at Universal first thing in the AM (not including EE) and start with my usual rides that I do (most of them being SR) by 12-1pm, I can get 5-6 (possible re-rides) attractions in.

The only issue I can think of in terms of SR issues is RRR and Gringotts. So, if you want to do those, do those first thing in the AM, as those can fill up since a lot of people try to take advantage of those SR lines. Oh and Hagrid's coaster (when it's available) I wouldn't necessarily recommend the SR line at all, as most accounts state they'll shed maybe a few minutes off, or waited longer then the wait (I've only personally heard two stories so far of the SR working out for them).

Yea I've heard the same. I'd only be getting express pass for Universal, not IOA, because there are only a few rides there which I'm interested (or have the balls to- I don't like huge drops) ride, and I'm mostly going there just to try to experience HMCM. Hopefully that works out! But it looks like I'll follow your advice and get it there if I need to- I'm assuming the price doesn't increase at the park?

Yes, the price increases depending on how busy they predict it will be. While you do not have to go through and purchase it, you can go on the website to can get an idea of what the pricing will be when you go. For further clarification, I do not believe they rack the price up if there is an unexpected amount of people purchasing it if that might also be what you're wondering.
