Express Pass for HHN?

I know you can't use FOTL on HHN nights, but seems like I remember reading they do sell some sort of express pass for that night for one use per attraction. Am I imagining things, or does this really exist? If there is one, can any one tell me how much time it typically shaves off waiting periods at the haunted houses? (I've used FOTL with room key during regular park hours, just not sure if this works as well).

We are going to be there just one night (Friday, 15 Oct) and I know it will be packed.

Yes they do,good for one house per pass.I've seen wait times 120min plus on peak nights, with the express it will knock that under half that time depending how many are sold that night.

Friday the 15'th is what we come to call hell week at HHN and its gonna be crazy crowded.I would do this.buy a day ticket that way you can utilize the stay and scream perk. Then when you see the lines getting 60min plus start using your express pass. With stay and scream you get to hit 2 or 3 select houses before the masses make it through the gate.Plan accordingly after that.Study the map and keep your eyes posted here come late summer and you will know what houses are gonna be the busyest..

Its over 5months away and I'm drooling over HHN20 already!!

Thanks!! I heard "Horror" stories (no pun intended! :goodvibes ) about waits...I don't want to have only one night and spend 1/2 the time in lines. Do you typically try to do any particular Haunted house more than once?

The strategy, Express Pass or no Express Pass, is to be in the park when it closes (known as Stay and Scream) so that when they do open the houses you are one of the first ones in while the regular visitors are still outside the gates. That way you can be through a good part of the houses before lines have a chance to build up. If you buy an EP you would save it for later on in the evening when they have those 120 minute lines. You would think this is just common sense but if I had a nickel for every time I've seen people going to the front of a nonexistent line with their EP I could afford to buy one for myself :)

How long do waits for the rides get most nights? Yeah yeah, I know you don't go for the rides, but it wouldn't hurt anyone if I went on Mummy a few times if the wait was reasonable.

We do HHN at least 3times a year,I've been known to break off from family and friends and hop into the single riders line and ride ROTM.Sigle riders line at HHN is normaly under 10min. but I wait a few min longer cuase I love the backseat, great airtime!!:thumbsup2

We always carry our cells to meet up later.

Waits on any of the rides are usually minimal. People are there for the Halloween stuff, not the things they can see anytime during the day. If I had a chance to ride HRRR late at night I might go for that but it wasn't open for HHN last time. They said safety concerns since the ride runs right over some of the lines but the ride was running empty for testing most nights we were there. They were probably more afraid of drunks vomiting onto the crowd below.

i have been doing HHN for the last 10, going on 11, years.

friday and saturday usually have the largest crowds.

i have always purchased the EPP for HHN and i do 4 nights on my trips.

i figure it like car insurance.
you have it if you really need it.

i prefer doing the houses at least twice each night so i can catch Team A and Team B in action.
sometimes it makes the difference in the house based on the scareactors.

i do like purseval does and utilize the stay and scream holding area.
get a head start on the houses before the general admission group is let in.

of course it is still light out so i repeat those early houses later in the evening using the epp.

this year will be the 20th anniversary of HHN.

i'm counting on the epp to cost a small fortune..........
yes, i will stay pay for it.

i prefer doing a rip tour on the fridays so i can avoid the crowds and long lines. i do not buy the epp on the night i do the tour.

What is the RIP Tour? Price?

Approximately how much is a EPP for HHN and is it only for HHN? Or that whole day?

Planning on the Stay & Scream and also going on a Thursday night. Probably the 21st. Realistically, are we going to be able to see most everything in one night? Or not even close?

Thanks for the info!

I'll let Mac tell you about the RIP Tour. :thumbsup2

The HHN Express varies depending on the day of the week. Last year I think they were anywhere from about $35.00 to over $65.00 and that's only good during HHN. The day time EP's and hotel guests do not get use their Express access. If you do S & S and since it's on a Thursday, I would think you could get most things done w/o an EP but you might have to skip a show or two. You're going near the end of month so the crowds will be worse than the beginning of the month.

This year will be my third consecutive year attending HHN! I am so excited, as usual, for this event. Last September, I bought the express pass for the opening weekend. I actually bought it in the park at around 9 pm (had allready done all houses) and was able to redo them all with the express pass. (it also rained a bit so the crowds emptied out a bit).

This year I am waiting for gory packages to come out. Wish I could get something which includes breakfast at the Three Broomsticks. I already have park tickets, bought the 7 day unlimited in January before prices went up, so a Vacation Package won't work for me.

Anyone remember during which month HHN info starts coming out?
Thinking about doing the rip tour on this ocassion, any good?

Metro sent me.............::yes::

in the past years, they have had the exclusive tour and the non-exclusive tour.

i have done both over the years but the last 4 years, only the exclusive one.

RIP tours are a private tour of the houses, scare zones and bill and ted's adventure show.
you are in a group of 15-20 people led by a UO tour guide.

you enter the houses as a group and stay as a group during the evening.
the express line is held back when it is your turn to enter the houses as a group.
much easier to keep the group together then.

you do go back ways/shortcuts, to get to the houses sometimes.

your tour guide will be your leader for the event.

for bill and ted's show, you have reserved seating.

no long lines to deal with, no having to rush and sit for 45 minutes in advance for the B & T show, and you get interesting facts from an UO expert on the HHN event.

you do not need to buy the epp when you do the tour.

i can not say what the prices will be for this year, they do change.
all i can tell you is what they have been when i have booked the tours in the past.

the non-exclusive tours have run about $135 to $175 per person depending on the night and number of hours for your tour.
saturday night is always the most costly.

there have been 4 hour tours and 5 hour tours in the past.
weekend tours cost more than the other nights.

if you have the aph, you do get a discount for the tour costs making it less than what i listed above.

the general non-exclusive tours can not guarantee who will be in your group.

i do the vip rip tour. it is called the exclusive rip tour.
it is for 7 hours and costs $2000. (included tax)

one person books the tour and can have anyone they want in their group.
no one can be added to the group without the permission of the homie that holds the reservation for it.

the person that holds the reservation for this tour will give the tour guide, in advance, input on what they want to do as a group.

i book this tour knowing some past homies will be doing the tour again.
i know i can get 7 peeps easily.
i have taken into the group any homie that contacts me or others in the group to boost our number up.
the more in the group, the less we all pay.

the maximum for the exclusive rip tour is 12 peeps.

once we have the group formed, then everyone pays me their share of the costs.

i think last year i had the costs down to $1850 something by using discounts.

i have had 12, 11, 8, and 9 in the past years for this tour.

prices have changed over the years.
i just plan to book the tour again no matter what the cost is.
a few years we all paid $159 each, when our group is smaller, each homie pays more.

totally and completely addicted to HHN........

i like the 7 hour tour the best.
we do each house and zone twice during the night, include a few rides and have a dinner hour break.

i make it for a friday and the entire evening is very well organized.
we have from 7pm to 2am with a hhn tour guide.

now i am going to be sad because HHN is a long way off for me........

but i did make my hotel ressie in january.......

more questions?
just ask!

you will be hearing about hhn in july.

the website presents it in a very unique way.

mac has got all the 411 of the tours you will ever need to know!!:thumbsup2

So you just basically make two laps around the park, getting to the front of the line each time? What kind of information does the tour guide provide? What if you wanted to try to go around the entire thing three times? Do the guides get scared and do they go out of their way to scare the guides more?

The tour guide gives you inside info about the houses like how long it takes to build it,how much money went into it,take all the back alleyways to minimize walking etc.The other great thing is the scareactors know when a tour group is comming thru and they kick it up a notch.
There are two teams of scareactors, cast A and cast B so going thru the houses twice lets you compare which one is better.Heck on the 7hr tour we have been known to do several houses 3 or 4 times.

DW and I have done it for the past few years and will keep on doing it.We love it that much. Its worth every penny in our eyes!!!!!:thumbsup2

btw, i have you and the Mrs penciled down as a yes for this year........

when we have done the 7 hour, exclusive tour, we take shortcuts throught the park to reach the houses. we do not walk all the way around the park to reach one destination.

i have been a member of Chainsaw Wolf board for many years. (CSW)
there are others in our tour group that also are members.

many of the members on that website are employees at UO.
when i get the info of who is doing what and which team, then i know which house to prepare for.

members love to get a rise out of the members coming thru the houses or the scare zones.............

i always wear my CSW logo shirt and i'm noticed in the houses and streets.

i find some tour guides are more in tune to hhn than others.
i have never had a tour guide that became scared during the tour.

our group probably has had many special scares attempted on them due to the CSW group.

when you do the 4 or 5 hour tour, you don't necessarily see everything that the 7 hour tour does.

the non-exclusive tours aim to show the group all the houses once, walk thru some scare zones along the way and have a reserved seating for the Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure Show.

depending on your group you are in and the tour guide will determine if you are able to do repeat houses that night.

if you are a HHN virgin, taking a tour is a great way to be introduced to the event.......

if you are a vet of HHN, taking the tour lets you go at a relax state and avoid longer lines for houses.

many homies do not take the tours.
mostly due to the cost involved.

to me, it is worth it.

which weekend is the tour done - we will be there October 1-4 and if you are planning it for that weekend you can count me and my daughter in.
