Are you planning to go all day? You can get a ton done, especially in the morning and evening hours. Our first family trip was one long day after Hogsmeade opened while there was still ticket system and long lines to get into that area. Despite that, we rode almost every ride we wanted to and saw a show or two between 8 and 4, and then we spent the rest of the day in Hogsmeade. This was a Christmas week day, so it was plenty crowded.
If I were you, I would look at park maps and make a game plan before arriving. Plan an efficient path through the parks visiting everything that sounds really exciting to you. The Universal app is actually really good - it will give you directions from place to place within the parks.
I always try to hit the Harry Potter areas first thing and then venture out to do other things when they start getting busy. We return around dinner and stay there the rest of the evening.
