Express pass - am I doing the math right here

We're looking at the cost difference between hotels for a May 2018 trip. When I go to Universal's site I can add on the unlimited express pass for 85 bucks per day (both parks). I'm assuming this cost is per person/per day? When I click buy now to give me a total cost it puts 2 passes in there automatically. Is this just Universal assuming there are 2 of us when I really need 4? so an additional $340 per day. (incidentally the total cost of Royal Pacific is less than that for our May dates)

thanks, I'm sorry this is such an obvious question but it seems bizarre to me to not stay on property for less money IF the EPs are important to you.

Are you looking at just the ticket page? I think there's the opportunity to input the number of tickets you need.

And yes it's per person per day.

For one night's stay at RPR, HRH, or PBH you get unlimited express passes for the people listed in your room, from check in to parks close the day of check out, so it's two days of UEPs for that one night. Always worth doing the math, if UEPasses (or even just EPs) are something youw ant!

Yes, that's what I'm doing. We're only going to be there for 2 nights and the idea of cutting our wait times has value to us. Not 600+ dollars worth of value, but enough to make me seriously look at RP for our stay.

Stay at RPR! It's a great resort. Yes, it would be crazy to buy unlimited express x 8 versus staying deluxe on site. I think you will be very happy! Plus, your a 10 minute walk or a short boat ride away from the resort.

It's almost always comes out cheaper to stay onsite at a hotel that includes express pass for us. I did find for Memorial Day Weekend with an AP discount and just DS and I going, it was about the same price to stay at RPR versus Cabana Bay with Express Pass everyday. Usually, it's 3 of us, and it never comes out ahead to buy EP.
