ExpoTV Users Stop In....

Hi all, bumping us up here; I will update the first post tomorrow morning sometime; just got back from an impromptu beach trip with dh for the weekend- had 8 hours in the car today, and now I am procrastinating the unpacking by wading thru about a million emails, lol.

I will check in tomorrow- promise!

Hi guys just joined, this seems really cool. Anyone know how long it takes to be paid?

Well the reviews are shown on my cable channel 970 on Brighthouse CFL. Guess we know how they are making their money. Hum, pretty cool.

Whoo hoo! My first 2 videos were accepted. I was afraid to do too many until I could see if something was wrong with them or anything! I got 2 more waiting and now I'll start more! I am so excited!

I think most of you guys are my friends already!

Ok-- I am trying really hard to upload a video.
It is 42mb so it is under 50mb.
It is in AVI format

Well, when I try to upload it, I keep getting a message that says something to the effect "unable to get video server" so something similar to that.

Has this happened to anyone else? Can anyone help me on what to do next?
I really want to do this but I am stuck.

Thanks!

Hi everyone; just wanted to let you all know that the list is updated to this point. Glad to see the membership continue to grow- I love helping out fellow Dis'ers!!

One suggestion I have- add each other as friends, but more importantly, SUBSCRIBE to everyone on your friends list. (You have to do each one yourself- even if someone subscribes to you, you will not be subscribed to them.) Then whenever someone that you are subscribed to gets a video approved, you will get an email with a link to their new video, so you can easily watch everyones videos as they come up.

Keep those pennies rolling for our fellow Dis'ers!!

Hi, I am not sure I can help you at all (I am definitely lost when it comes to technical stuff), but do you have Windows Movie Maker? I upload everything there first, then save it as a WMV file, and I have had no problems so far.

As a last resort, I would email Expotv too- I had a question about payments when I first started, and they answered within 24 hours.

Good luck- I hope you get it all figured out soon! :)

Hi guys just joined, this seems really cool. Anyone know how long it takes to be paid?

I uploaded my first 2 videos in June (June 30th), and they were approved July 13th. The funds were transferred to Paypal on July 18th.

The payments go out once a month- it seems like between the 2nd and 3rd week of the following month.

Good luck, and have fun with it!!

I just joined over the weekend. I've uploaded 31 videos already. Now I just have to wait for them to be approved :hourglass

Thanks! I do have Windows Movie Maker but I am not too sure how to get my video over to there and then save it as a WMV file.
I am using my camera (Canon S3) to make the videos. They are coming out fine now its just uploading them!

I will have to play around some more and hopefully figure it out. I WILL figure it out, just going to take a little time! ;)

Hi again- I am using my camera (Fujifilm Finepix) to do my videos too. I don't know if this will help, but I upload my videos to my computer first using the software from my camera. Then I open Movie Maker, and go to File:Import Videos into collections- I highlight the videos I want and import them.

From there, I select the videos one at a time to work on them. When I finish one, I hit the File:"Save as" , and save the video to a folder on my computer first.

Next I click on the File: "Save Movie File" (I believe that is what it's called- I don't have it in front of me here at work). This one brings up a couple options- save to email, send, etc- I choose the "save to computer" option. You have to click the next button 3 times, and I save to a separate folder that I created on my desktop. It automatically saves it in the correct .WMV format for me when I do this.

Again, I will check the terminology on the Movie Maker when I get home tonight, because I can't quite remember it without seeing it in front of me, but I hope that might help you.

Good luck!:)

Am I the only one who feels like an absolute dork, doing this?? Well at least I'll be a wealthier dork!!!

THANK YOU!:cheer2:

Yes I know I'll feel silly doing these videos but hey the $$$ is right so what if I look silly. I've got a list a mile long of things to review once I get my stinking USB plug to work, seems I'm having a little bit of laptop trouble. =o(

Wow, thanks for the tips, we are also having a few problems. I will try this.

Anyone versed in computer repair? For some reason my laptop freezes everytime I plug in a USB device, doesn't matter which one, they all cause it to freeze and I must reboot.

I contacted HP, by chat and was told to reinstall my chipset, which I did, uninstall the USB hub/roots and reinstall which I did, still no go, the second time I was told to do that in safe mode, still no go...

I really want to get started by my laptop isn't letting me...=o(

I just got my first video published.......:cool1: :lmao:

Hi Buckeyefan! ;) i see you have gotten several posted lately! I have got to catch up and watch everyone's new videos. (They posted 7 of mine today! Ya hoo!)

To add to this, you have to watch the video all the way to the end for it to count as a viewing. So if you need to, push play on the video and let it play while you are doing something else if you don't have time to watch them all to the end! At least we'll all still make the pennies!:)

Good point! I actually have been playing a lot of videos at work today, and everytime a customer came in, I just turned the volume down really far and let the video play so you guys would still get credit. :rolleyes1 ;)

MMKK- I saw your first videos got posted today too! Yeah! :woohoo:

Well this is exactly what I did and the videos finally went through!!! YEAH!
RIght now I have 10 videos pending, hopefully soon they will be up.
This is DH's account right now.
I am SO camera shy and I don't think I can get over it even with the money involved! lol
So right now DH does the review and I download and upload the videos ;)

DH isn't that thrilled with the idea but once I was telling him how much people are making he decided he will give it a try. He told me NOT to show him the videos though, he feels like a dork talking about the items.

I am just happy I have 10 videos pending now ;)
