Can anyone explain the Ultimate Park Hopper and its features / benefits versus 1 day park ticket per theme park?

I'm staying at the HRH for 5 nights and would like to go to WDW and Universal.

What type of ticket would I need to see all the parks and eat at the restaurants within the parks?

Is it feasible to plan my trip by seeing one park each day and staying at that park at night to eat?

Ultimate Park Hopper works at Disney Parks only. The park allows you to enter any park (even all water parks, Downtown Disney, and Disney Quest), any time.

Example: You decide on Monday morning to go to MK, well, say like you have reservations at restraunt at Ecpot. You can leave MK and enter Epcot with no problems.

The UPH is available only to WDW resort guests and are "length of stay" passes. This means that you must buy a UPH for the same number of nights of your stay plus one (the last day). Some people have found there are ways around that and make "room only" reservations for the first and last days and book the "package", which includes the UPH, for the days in between.

With the UPH you get unlimited access to the 4 main parks, water parks, PI and DQ. If you plan on spending most of your time at those places and want to move between parks some or all days, this is a good idea. If, however, you plan to spend time at non-Disney parks, you'll "waste" a day of the UPH that you've paid for... unless you get more creative with your reservations than indicated in my first paragraph. Also, the UPH expires at the end of your stay whether you used the pass each of the days or not.

Since you are planning to stay at HRH, you might consider a Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus. These give you the ability to "park hop" at WDW as much as you want - although only the "Plus" option covers the water parks and PI (DQ isn't included in either, I think). How this type of pass would benefit you over the "one day one park" ticket is that you can spend the morning at one park, have lunch at another, visit a third in the afternoon then have dinner and spend the evening in a fourth (don't know if anyone would really want to hop that much, though .:p ).

You could buy individual tickets for each park and just eat at that park but the 4 day PH is actually $1 less (if you purchase in advance) than 4 single day tickets - per the WDW website. One other advantage - unused days (and "pluses") on the Park Hopper (basic or plus) passes don't expire so if you don't make it to a park each day, you can use at a future time.

LisaZoe that's a cute picture of your daughter.

I was thinking the same thing. She's adorable! Definately a little princess in training! :) :)

To the OP : UPH's are only available to people staying at Disney hotels.

Universal has two parks - Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Depending on your group those parks will each require a full day. You are staying at a US hotel so you get front of the line priveldge which should make seeing it all in two days quite possible (but may not leave room for going on things multiple times)

You'll then have 3 days at Disney. You don't mention if these days are travel days?

You may want to get 4 day Park Hopper plus passes. These will allow you access to all 4 Disney theme parks. The extra day and the plus feature never expire.

The only thing I'd worry about is if you are arriving late or leaving early, you may want to save your days. I'd hate to see you waste a day on a ticket if you can only be there for 1/2 a day.

Were you planning to see all 4 Disney parks? What is the makeup of your traveling group?

To eat at the resteraunts in the parks you need to actually be in the park. But I wanted to suggest, look at some of teh resteraunts outside of the parks too. Universal has CityWalk which features shopping and dining (Margaritaville is excellent) and Disney has Downtown Disney which also features shopping and dining.

Its more likely 3 full days and two half days. How do we fit in all these parks? One day has already been allocated to visit the Kennedy Space Centre.

Is there a ticket to allow us park hop all WDW parks in 1 or 2 days and the same for Universal.

Are there any half days tickets?

For Disney admission - 1 and 2 day hoppers exist, but you have to be part of a convention to get the 2 day hopper, and the 1 day hopper are given out as compensation if a guest has some sort of a problem. Convention folks also have access to after 2pm passes.

People have been reporting being able to get 3 day hoppers from Alamo (some reported needing a reservation confirmation number, others didn't), and some have said http://www.discountorlandovacation.com have them, or try calling 407 932-2080 (Central Florida Tickets and Travel , a ticket broker in Orlando). Sometimes they have them and don't advertise them on their site. Or Try discountorlandovacation.com -

Universal Studios also does not offer a 1 day hopper. Their one day tickets are valid for one park only. However, they DO have a 2 day hopper pass.
