I looked to book a room for 4 nights dec 8-12 at the del sol inn.

I looked at getawaytoday and it was 300 bucks and a 20 dollar handling fee for a total $320.

So I call Del Sol Inn for there price and it was 79.99 a night plus tax.

So while I have them on the phone I say I can et a better deal with get away today will you match their price.

They tell me NO so I should book with them. Why on earth would they not match this makes no sense at all.

Someone explaine this too me please why not cut the middle man out.

many hotels sell blocks of rooms to "bucket wholesalers" very early based on projected occupancy; just to guarantee a certain % of return to cover operating costs, etc..

example expedia, TAs etc. who then resale (at a profit;) ) or bundle w/package etc.

I am not sure which room you were quoted the 79.99 price, but on their website delsolinn.com the double queen is 75.00 per night. With all the taxes it comes to 345.00

It seems that they are charging (on their website anyway) the same as getawaytoday, but there are fewer taxes. You get the less expensive way booking through getawaytoday.

Have a great trip!

The same goes for the Disney website as well. Getawaytoday is usually cheaper than deals you can get on Disney.com.

I was talking to a CM at WDTC and they even mentioned that thier parents always book on getawaytoday because it is cheaper.....go figure!
